So I tried Ele PVP this weekend and here’s what Ive taken out of the experience

I stacked Conditional Damage gear wh toughness.

For traits, I put most into fire and took the extra damage traits.
For the other’s I think I put 10 into air and 20 into water to get the first or second unlock and get health regen when attuned to water

I tried scepter dagger but kept dying to fast.

The range of 1,200 on the staff seems to be higher than the rest of the classes. So I tried to use that to my advantage. dont let anyone close and stay behind a wall of friendlies where possible. Didnt get a ton of kills but by using AOE Fire skills on the control point, i could take a whole enemy group health down and then let the melee finish off.

DPS just isnt nearly as high as it should be for a glass cannon spec. In other MMOs I have played a glass cannon and i could take down the med armour clasees faster than they could take me down. this game its the other way around.

Then how do you spec it for glass cannon? What traits, setup, runes, etc for a higher dps set up?

I tried stacking crit and air, and still wasnt enough dps.

Staff == AOE / Control / Support.

Well, if you want max damage: Zerker Amulett + 30/30/0/0/10 traits and d/d with arcane blast + arcane wave as utilitys… but you will die really fast with this specc.
Elementalist isn’t that good at running full glass cannon.

Elementalist isn’t that good at running full glass cannon.

I run s/d but this is basically my build, can’t remember if the jewel is the same but I have around 14 hp and 68 crit damage + all that power. My armour runes are +crit + crit damage.

Elite elemental + Arcane blast + Arcane wave + Arcane Power and which I swap out for mist every now and then due to the high crit rate already.

All arcane moves can be done whilst channeling or doing another action, and from memory I think you can pop them whilst in mist form.

Staff has a lot of skills that COULD do damage if they scaled correctly with power – precision and crit damage, but they don’t. Locking staff to “support – control” is a lame arguement as we get 1 immobilize on a 30 second CD that misses constantly and an AoE chilled, which is pretty useful I’ll agree, and a lightning ring-stun, which is meh as good players will just stay inside it and switch to ranged weapons and skills… Not exactly very controlling. Oh, we also have a knockdown on a 30 second CD that also misses constantly.
