Edit:
This applies to all utility skills. Updated wiki so its more clear.

Isn’t tooltip damage pre-armor reduction though? It would be one thing if healing amount didn’t match, but it’s hard to claim direct damage amount is incorrect when it’s susceptible to reduction by your target’s defenses.
At level 80, the opponent Armor value used to calculate the tooltip’s direct damage is 2600.

What are you talking about? I posted to spread awareness about something that I had never thought to check if it was intended or not.
I don’t fact-check the Wiki, so if the Wiki was wrong, then someone who has checked update it.
Also, needlessly rude.

Hey Hamartia! We did have an active bug report thread going regarding the Ele, but it’s in limbo since new reporting policies have been put in place.
Underwater dodge traits not proccing underwater is most definitely bugged.
Last I checked, Arcane Utilities do not benefit from weapon strength but do benefit from total stats, but the tooltip damage scales incorrectly. I think most players (even myself) didn’t bother/notice it was an issue since these damaging spells always crit and have combo finisher components.
And I agree — I would much prefer it have been named “Arcane Bolt”.
i don’t see what’s wrong with blast; it’s like Energy Blast and Mind Blast

I don’t know if anything is necessarily wrong. Do lots of other abilities in GW2 not scale with weapon damage but their tooltip says it does?
I’m honestly not sure. Was hoping to see some more light on this.
I wish the damage in tool tips actually meant something to me.
would be cool if the tooltip was calculating damage with the armour of the target you’ve selected, and defaults back to normal if there’s no target selected

Would be cool, but it would let you guess their build to easily, esp in pvp.
