Are you telling me..
Elementalists are fair to good at most aspects of the game. The problem is when you are doing higher level content like dungeons, when you more or less settle in to one role, but you are never going to be the best at any given role.
Having said that, it’s a fun class to play, thanks to the versatility.
Engineers fit the description pretty well too.
But yes, this class is the generic ‘jack of all trades’, although I guess it depends what you really mean by that term.
Frankly, it seems like every class is a “jack of all trades” in this game. Not really sure how eles are particularly versatile.
Yes, it is true. Jack of all trades, master of none. This is a good thing. Many situations require a trade that is not avalable to other classes. We always have an answer and we make a noticable difference. No group of 5 thinks they 4 manned something when an elementalist is in the party.
Looking for Jack? Try thiefing.
Dps, mobility, Aoe, conditions…its all there.

I would tend to agree for the most part, but would contend that even if eles focus all on one role, they can still perform reasonably well in other roles. As in, even if we focus heavily on damage, we still have decent heals and cc. Or if one focused heavily on bunkering, they would still have mediocre damage. The ele definitely has the most claim to ‘jack of all trades’, whether or not other professions can also fill multiple roles in a single build. The engineer is probably a close second.
