Q:
Armor and trinkets for D/D WvW auramancer?
What I’m going to say mostly applies to group and zergs, although DD ele have the gift of having the same gear useful for all walks for WvW
Hey there. Getting started it’s going to be very hard to you to get the right gear I think. And in a way, I think the term “right gear for a DD ele” is very much up for debate as I know so many types of builds out there.
I’m going to hope that some people would share their own builds of DD and what they think will work (don’t wanna share mine :P). But but but, I think I can give you some pointers.
For armor… Power Toughness Vitality armour is amazing training wheels — you might even find this to be your main set! Boon duration runes are good too, quite easy to get and good for aura share. Weps… PVT or knights or mix. Some people like beserker and a growing trend is the all stat weps which are nice too, although harder to get but give you that awesome crit damage.
For trinkets a mixture of knights, cav, and soldier stats, with the ruby orbs in them. Maybe valk or beserker, but as you’re still getting started just start with those, and kitten what you may want from there, whether you want to replicate another build or something.
The more confidant you are with dd the more “glass cannon” you can go. One thing I always keep in mind with my builds — always try have around 3000 atk, 30% crit and a healthy dose of crit damage (50-80%, depending on vitality and toughness).
For ascended all stat is an amazing place to go. I like more focussed stats, but all stat is soo good, and pretty much works with everything.
Good luck on your journey!

Check out his updated build he uses celestial gear now and has high crit dmg plus compensates toughness and power with food and other stuff
oh good call cacho, I read the end of his thread and found a link to his builds after the update. I feel much more informed now, yet mad that it takes a day to make super quartz apparently.
