When I play PvP on my d/d ele with friends it feels like I’m playing Starcraft with the constant switching from Attunement to Attunement. How “fast” do you play your build? Do you feel a more relaxed playstyle reduces your effectiveness?

Depends entirely on the build. If you invest a lot of points in the arcane tree and you are a bunker spec, the speed of your attunement swapping has very minor repercussions within small scale battles. However, on larger scale encounters it can be a different story on your effectiveness.

On the other hand, as an ele you have other more risky, glassy type of builds. Playing with these builds the speed on switching attunement have major consequences of your effectiveness even on small scale battles.

Like said above, depends on your play style.

I usually swap very quickly. I don’t see any point in standing around in an attunement.

Even if I’m jumping in when a group is combatting a zerg, I’ll hit their flank and I typically change some things up but will save major skills or utilities for defense, as when there’s a horde focusing you, you better believe a semi-squishy ele is going to need defense.

The great thing about hitting flanks after an engagement is if you’re good at predicting or watching zerg movements is you can pretty much prey on an entire group of people without getting heavy focus.

Never switch through all 4 too fast, or you’ll be stuck in 1 with no place to switch.

Yes you want to combo, but if you’re in water and have no place to switch to it could be game over. Try to learn how to space at the right time for the right opponent.
