Auramancer: some minmaxing questions

1st thing: If played as staff using Arcane Wave instead of a 30 signet is actually an improvement to buff groups. Signet will give Fire Shield and Wave in Frozen Ground will give Frost Aura for the same cooldown.
As for D/D VS Staff,
Staff :
Magnetic Aura 30 sec. – 1 aura
Frozen Ground 32 sec. – 2 auras (Eruption/Wave)
I’ll ignore Signet of Fire and Air since D/D has them anyways.
So thats roughly 3 auras every 30 sec if paying attention.
D/D:
Frost Aura 32 sec – 1 Aura
Shocking Aura 25 sec – 1 Aura
Signet of Earth or Water 30 sec – 1 Aura
Slightly more than 3 auras every 30 sec. However leap in fire field gives a serious edge.
The more I thinking about it the more I am wondering if the best group buff uptime isnt 0/10/10/20/30 since blast in Frozen Ground give group aura anyways and 30 arcane offers interesting boon duration and utility.
For stricly Protection uptime D/D+Signet seems to be better but staff/arcane build frees 2 utility slots, and a lot more group support.
The problem is that Powerful Auras only works with auras you cast or get via Fire’s Embrace. Combo field auras you get are not shared. In addition, combofield auras doN’tgrant fury, swiftness, or protection. So if you’re using signet sac, the most frequent auras come from 4 signets and D/D. S/D is ok, you have 2 auras. A case can be made for staff because Mag Aura is awesome.

I would really like to test your statement about field aura not shared. If you are talking about Fire + Leap they do give prot/fury/swiftness, Im 100% positive, Im not very sure they share.
As for Frost Armor from blast in Ice zones you dont care they share, they are already group auras, and they do give boons if the finisher player has traits.
S/D is bad because /D has a longish recharge aura and Scepter has none, the only reason to play S/D as auramancer is if someone else provides Ice Fields.
To clear up the combo aura and sharing issue..
All auras gained in any manner will trigger Zephyr’s Boon on yourself, even those from combos. Ex. Magnetic Grasp leap through RoF.
Powerful Aura will share all straight aura skills, and any signet proc’d auras.
No combo auras, like the above Fire one, will be shared on allies through PA. The pseudo-exception to this is Frost Aura from an ice field and a blast finisher, but this is deceptive because it doesn’t trigger Powerful Aura. It shares through the nature of a Blast Finisher, and will effect allies within the radius of the blast finisher only, and will also proc the Zephyr’s Boon buffs on them. I’m not sure of the range of Powerful Aura’s effects, but just for clarity’s sake, let’s say PA and the blast finisher have a range of 600 and 400 respectively. Anyone between 400-600 range (or anywhere outside 400, but this is more for clearing up the non-PA shared issue) will NOT receive the Frost Aura. Keep in mind only blasts from eles traited for ZB will cause buffs to proc, but finishers from other classes will proc the aura on allies.

Sorry I wasn’t clear enough. Muppet got it right, except for the fact that I thought auras from your combo finishers won’t give boons to other people (you will still get them). I checked the wiki though, and it seems I was wrong. Certainly don’t mind that though

When speced into ZB my Arcane Wave into Frozen Ground gives boons to nearby allies.
