This is my second video with the condition build. I am experimenting with glypth of elemental power and Sigil of Doom in these videos.

A loooooot better than the previous. The damage, healing, it all throws me back to Wintersday bunker ele’s. I really liked the vid, great job! The fight with the engineer got me on the edge of my seat, seeing you get to 5% of your health and cleansing yourself just in time.

A few things: try to time your churning earths properly, by using lightning flash to move away from the target while still in range. (If air 3 isn’t up) That way, you won’t get interrupted. Also, when channeling ether renewal, switch to earth for protection. (and stability/toughness, if traited for it). Lastly, have you considered going with reaper of grenth just for the lolz? Firey greatsword’s definitely better but it’d be nice to see reaper used at least once in wvw.

Nice video, however it just goes to show just how much work it takes the ele to do something that other classes can do better and easier. You got a link to the build you are using?

I don’t usually use my elite 1v1 either, but there are times where it’s appropriate.

The human elites actually have some solid uses for an elementalist. Reaper of Grenth is great for jumping into large groups and slowing them down and preventing healing. Also very useful for fighting ultra regen classes like ranger/warrior. We have no other source of poison so it can make a real difference.

My current go to for solo roaming is Avatar of Melandru. It seems useless at first glance, but it’s actually a true instant cast 20 second stability. In other words, a near guaranteed stomp. I use it instead of armor of earth so I can use my more useful stability for the actual fight. The skills on it are also occasionally useful.

Armageddon here is a link to the build. Once again I take no credit for the creation of this build. You can also opt to go 20 in earth and pick of the 2s stabilty when you switch to earth trait. I usually drop the condition duration food and get condition damage and vitality food when I do this. Also, this site hasn’t been updated with the new runes so just replace the orrian ones with rune of perplexity.

Mmmm, not to bad. I am looking at changing my build was thinking Water(15) and Arcane(20) as a min. Thanks for the build, will see where it leads me.

Do you find the Perplexity runes worth it? with the fact we have no other access to Confusion

Atm there is no internal cooldown on the confusion on interrupt. That is 5 stacks of confusion which does like 1.2k per tick for about 10 seconds. You have the chance to interrupt with air aura, updraft and earth 4. Watch the video again and look at my confusion ticks and you will see.

Have you tried d/f? Same amount of interrupts (comet and gale instead of earthquake and updraft), and you get obsidian flesh and magnetic wave which allow you to go invul while your conditions tick and allow you to clear 3 more conditions (useful for low this low hp build) and reflect projectiles. The obvious problems are no churning earth or rtl, but given that churning earth is hard to land against good opponents, you might not miss it, especially with 20% off earth cooldown trait (earth focus is what makes focus worthwhile). Fiery greatsword would help with mobility rtl provided.

I was just thinking, what is the point of Renewing Stamina in a build that has next to no crit chance such as yours)?

Is the 2seconds of Fury on attunement swap enough for a reliable upkeep?

i have about 25% crit chance with fury. I can only proc it once every 5 seconds. So yes it is still a reliable upkeep

Try mixing in rabid for precision. Getting a higher crit rate would work nice with proccing sigil of doom. You don’t need that much apothecary gear. Maybe rabid trinkets.

Yea I suppose you could, but you also have to look at the value of precision given your power. I find my precision to be right were it needs to be, but you could try rabid trinkets to get a few more 400 damage crits in.

Why did you put the sarcastic title of the thread as “Bad elementalist” haha. Was it because of the controversy the condition builds brings to the forum? I congratulate you for going against the norm of the type of eles found in wvw and being very successful.

lol I didn’t see your youtube name either. I can think of 2 reasons why you got those dislikes

1-Many believe condition builds as an ele is just plain awful simply because they are not as successful with it.

2- The quality of the video is very low. Try to make it HD.

I’m not really sure how i can improve my quality tbh. Should I turn up graphics in game, upload it in a different format or what?

staff ele has only 1 interrupt and horrible condi attacks though?

every time a d/d or s/d ele does anything worth a dam , the staff ele gets the nerf
