Guild Wars 2

So my guild is having a friendly 1v1 tournament, and I was wondering what the best 1v1 elementalist build would be. Currently I know of a few possibilities, Fresh Air S/D or Bunker S/D , D/D. Keep in mind I’ll be fighting all classes.

I’ve been playing Fresh Air S/D for a while now, and the burst is crazy, but against condition heavy builds and bunker rangers it’s tough to pull off.

Any ideas? And ele’s that duel a lot out there?

I suggest asking anet as they designed the class to what it is now which is…… ah nevermind

I like fresh air s/d (0/30/0/20/20), it’s pretty good in all matchups 1v1. Really good burst, and if you run cleansing fire instead of arcane wave you should be fine.

I generally run ogre runes, zerker ammy, sigil of battle, sigil of force

tried some new builds in pvp with all the new traits and found that 0/0/20/30/20 D/D bunker spec (all cantrips+fiery Greatsword and the signet for healing) works best.
12 matches only 2 deaths and quite a few kills. The battles are more fun too!

What amulet are you using?

Depends what class/build you are fighting. If you know in advance it’s much better. S/x is tough against stealthy thieves since most of the skills require a target but great against mainly melee builds. Focus is a good choice when fighting someone who is primarily ranged.

For a guild tournament, I’d ban all bunker builds and phantasm mesmers, haha. Watching two bunkers fight is like watching paint dry, watching a bunker fight anything else is like someone slowly bash their head in against a brick wall. 1v1 phantasm mesmer is just OP as hell and getting killed by AI while your opponent rotates stealth/teleport/immunity is boring and frustrating.

Either that or bunker up with a 0-0-20-20-30 build, grab rock solid and ether renewal……

What amulet are you using?

Clerics!!! Healing constantly with good base power and toughness will wear down most opponnents. Beware of stalemates though. They occur quite often and if you slip up more than once you’ll find yourself out of water atunement with no way to heal except your healskill (which you generally don’t want to use).

You can go full triple cantrip bunker Ele. But that’s fairly lame since you’ll likely draw your opponent once you meet another bunker. Our best PvP DPS setup seens to be some sort of Fresh Air Burst builld.
