Guild Wars 2

I have heard that thieves are probably one of the most excellent damage dealers, if a little made of glass, but that eles can actually surpass them with the right build and skills. I’ve been searching around this forum for damage dealing builds, but they seem more about defense and staying alive (still important) and I could not really confirm if they were the best damage dealing builds or not with my limited ele experience, or if they were based on old information.

Also, what sorts of skills should I be focusing on? I’m not that great of a player, so if such a build focuses on dodging at the right times or chaining your skills in just the right way, how best could I practice these?

I think the best damage output build would be the Fresh Air build if that’s all you’re wanting. I’m pretty sure it’s complete and utter glass though.

That’s a link to a variation of it I think. I’m not sure what the original is, though I’m sure someone who’s been an Ele longer than me will eventually chime in with the original version.

This is not the best damaging build, but you’ll be expected to bring it in parties:
6/6/2/0/0, scepter/focus or scepter/dagger lightning hammer or staff. Sadly non lh/staves ( d/f, basically) specs kind of died last patch because most comps aren’t as ele heavy as before and their role has changed a bit. The 6/6/2 still has totally respectable damage, along with great offensive support via persisting flames and weak spot. scepter/hammer is more team oriented, staff is more personal dps.
