Best Rune Set To Get?
The health regeneration on Dolyak is so very bad (30 per second if I recall correctly, does not work with healing power)
Divinities is expensive, but gives a good amount of crit damage.
Melendru for the condition / stun meta
In terms of stats exactly, couldn’t help sorry.
You could always get 5x doylak + 1x some other stat.
Sophea Sladorian – Charr Ranger – [DECM] | Sea of Sorrows
Sophea Of Elements – Human Elementalist – [DECM] | Sea of Sorrows
Yeah not to sure what to get :/
Gotta change that to some zerkers and stick some ruby orbs up in that…armor.
Or go with divinity runes if you are like little girl.
Depends on your play style and build.
If you have decent amount of condition removals (1 or more of these: Ether renewal, Cleansing Fire, 30 pts in Water with Cleansing Wave), you can opt for any runes to your liking (Divinity, Boon Duration, etc.)
If you don’t have a lot of condition removals, you might need to opt for Melandru (toughness, -25% condition duration) or Hoelbrak (Power, -20% condition duration) runes.
Personally I use 3x Superior Water and 3x Superior Monk and 30 pts in Water, occasionally swap between Cleansing Fire and Armor of Earth depending on the situation.
exuberance is terrible.
I am acutally playing in PTV with exuberance runes, i really like them. I have PTV staff and zerk rings/accessories for a little up of damages. I run like 20k. Can go up to 29k hp in full PTV and guard buff in wvw.
But as Kyon it depends of your playstyle. Dont go more than 2 divinity runes. You can also run with one or two celestial rings, they are really good on elem but no more again for a good balance.
Needs moar zerk .__.
I used to have a set of PVT armour, but it got transmuted to zerker with div runes. I also have an emergency clerics set with dwayna runes/ relevant water traits. For when things hit really hard. Which they shouldnt as Fresh Air offers perma vigor! I’ve stuck with ascended PVT trinkets simply for that basic defence/power gain.
Add some small amount of might (3 stack) and I have a consistent 5k auto attack.
I know the instinct is to go defensive, but we have that much survivability as an Ele, you really shouldn’t pass up better damage gear.
Check out Scholar runes. Also Traveller runes look fun to play with now.
I would consider the following:
2x traveler, 2x monk, 2x water = +45% boon duration, +10 all stats, + 50 healing, +2% crit
2x traveler, 2x monk/water, 2x melandru = + 30% boon duration, -10% condi duration (to you), +10 all stats, + 2% crit, +25 toughness, + 25 healing power
6x traveler: +15% boon duration, +30 all stats, + 6% crit, +10% condi duration, +25% move speed (all the time, when it works that is)
3x traveler, 3x divinity: +50 all stats, +10% crit, +15% boon duration
1x traveler, 5x divnity: +60 all stats, +12% crit (exact same as 6x divinity, but cheaper)
Sigils wise i am going with Battle and 10+ Power i think. I did look at the Traveler one with the 25% movement speed being interesting, though i am holding off to see what the bugs are with it (Its Anet, bound to have issues!)
Does it work in and out of combat? It would be nice if i could change my Signet of Air. Current stats wise:
1,685 = Power
1,445 = Precision
29% Crit Chance
1,165 Toughness
1,491 Vitality
20% Boon Duration
60% Crit Damage
245 Healing Power
Though i am wearimng Ancient Karka Shell (+25 to all stats, 3% crit damage) Ruby Rings, Ruby earrings, Magi back item, Zerker Amulet
Traits wise:
Air: I, X, XII
Water: I, V
Arcana: V, VI
If you mostly play with good parties where you have perma 25 might, fury, regen, vigor then you problably should go full berserker and ruby orbs.
Otherwise go for 2x water, 2x monk, 2x platinum doublon for 68% boon duration and you will get all the boon even as d/d. Going for boon duration makes your average d/d 15 mights to perm 25 and this gives additional 320 power – no other rune/armor upgrade can match 320 power increase.
Also with bad tanky parties you can switch to s/d and give perma 25 mighs = 800 power for 5 ppl – and for now it is the best possible support in the game.
As for me I carry always:
1. pure ber/ruby set for hiLevFractals with good parties
2. pvt +monk/water/doublon + ber weapons and ber accesories for average/bad paries
3. pvt +monk/water/doublon + ber weapons and ber assecories except for rings which are tou/power/critDmg for wvw d/d solo (wvw zerg = pure dps set with staff)
4. full celestial set (armor/weapons/accesories) just to test and verify how bad it actually is

taking two Major Runes of the Water instead the doublons you can get +10% boonduration instead of 8%
besides that I run exact the same gear as Lavadiel:
Full Berserker with Ruby Stones
or PVT with monk/water/water + berserker weapons and jewellry

omg I always tought that major gives 5% A year ago I probably read the minor rune description and coded in my head 5% :/ … so now we will use exact same gear
For me 3 water and 3 monk is the boss.
taking two Major Runes of the Water instead the doublons you can get +10% boonduration instead of 8%
Or you can go 2x water, 2x monk, 2x traveler for:
+75% boon duration
+10 to all stats, +2% crit
+50 Healing power
If you want boon duration, this is optimal.
not seen anyone else use it & probably not good, but I use Mad Kings rune.
confuses the hell out of enemy when pop your elite.

this is new since the latest patch isn’t it?

Yes, and the new Runes of the traveler are the best boon duration runes around. + 10 to all stats and+ 2% crit is WAY better than +25 healing power all day, everyday.
I cant seem to find “Monk” runes anymore :/
I cant seem to find “Monk” runes anymore :/
You have to buy them from the Ascalonian Catacombs guy in the Lions Arch fort with Tears of Ascalon. You can either buy the rune or the gear with the runes on it.
Runes of the Monk are soul-bound however and can’t be bought on the TP.

Ah okay cheers.
Still not sure what way to go, i seem to still get easily burst down and everything :/

Where you getting that from?
I see 15% from each so that 45% Boon Duration.
30% from arcana skilltree
^Yes I was giving total (assuming the 30 in arcana). You can only get +45% from runes. You will still be squishy, but it helps to have tons of protection. If going +45%, I was thinking of taking rock solid to get about 30% uptime on stability, but I find that geomancer’s freedom helps more with -condi duration food to make cripple/chill/immob negligible and take them off of the list that nearly instant-kills us.
I have also considered going with all traveler’s as I usually run with signet of air. Taking that rune-set lets me take another defensive utility to improve survivability (either signet of earth, mistform, or glyph of elemental power to spread weakness or cripple/chill to give me movement superiority over my enemies.

Unless you go full bunker then its pointless and even going full bunker you will STILL get killed by pretty much anyone of any class unless you are right next to a tower. My FULL zerker Mesmer had more defensive options and more health then my Ele…
The simple fact is, The class is dead. Until (if!) Anet fix the issues the class has it will NEVER be as viable as any of the other classes in any area of the game. The ONLY reason It works in S/PvP and even then its low level comps is because the game design.
My Mesmer with NO Vit gear or Vit stats on any armor as MORE health then my Ele, its ele that needs it.
It is a sad time for Ele, seeing so many of them getting shelved and seeing less and less in WvW. The ONLY reason i am on my ele is that i have gotten bored of my Mesmer having played it from the start.

Please…..
Ele is a class that needs the user to build with some survivability in mind. Do this and it’s amazing. Build glass and yes, you’ll shelve it.
2 Melandru, 2 Water and 2 Monk!
0/30/0/10/30
Armor = Soldier/Knight
Weapons = Beserker
Trinkets = Soldier/Beserker
Lemongrass/Stone
1900ish power, 1900ish precision, 1500ish toughness 1400 Vitality
50/50 crit chance/dmg
60% boon duration
50% – condition duration
WvW: switch between staff and S/D

Thats the problem, My Mesmer NEVER had any issues going full zerker and surviving – More health, better defensive skills. We are FORCED to go into defensive stats due to our low our health and armor is pathetic.
What other class is FORCED to go defensive on stats simply to survive…
^Couldn’t agree more with that. EVERY single other class has the option of going glass and still being effective, and still being able to survive to some extent with stealth, mobility, blocks, clones, etc. We don’t. We don’t even have mobility anymore because they took that away. We die easily if we get pinned down unless we spec a certain way to heal a lot and remove conditions. We HAVE to focus on building up our survivability through traits and armor stats because our base survivability is so pathetic. This leaves very few build options for us compared to other classes.
1) Arcane shield
2) Arcane shield from traits
3) Blind Air3 scepter
4) Blind Earth 3 scepter
This 4 spells allow you to negate 8 sources of ANY power of damage…
Is’t it enough?

No it is not. The problem is, taking all of that – how is your damage going to be?
Now Air3 isnt to bad, 1 attack every 10 seconds if it hits. Then you get onto the fact we have VERY low health and armor at basic.
Lets check that against Mesmer who has more health:
Staff – Phase Retreat, Chaos Armor
Scepter – iCounter
Sword – Blurred Frenzy(MH), iRiptose(OH)
Torch – The Prestiege
Pistol – Magic Bullet (The Blind)
That is Weapons ONLY and even ignoring all the stuns and interruptions, The traits, Shatters. Blink, Veil, Sig Of Inspiration(Aegis proc) among others.
You really think what the ele has is acceptable considering the low health, low armor and low damage?

2) Arcane shield from traits
3) Blind Air3 scepter
4) Blind Earth 3 scepterThis 4 spells allow you to negate 8 sources of ANY power of damage…

it depends
When I play on my d/p thief vs ele it looks like this:
ele->Arcane shild
me -> 5,2,2,2,2 -> wait till shield end
ele->blind if scepter or auras if dd
me -> 5,2,2,2,2 -> wait till auras end + remove blind and all other condis
and thats all…now ele arcane shields are on 75s CD, auras on 25/40 and I need just about 2-5 seconds to kill – in very rare ocassions up to 10s if ele is v. skilled and tanky. Each time I enter stealth via 5,2,2,2,2 I get boons, loose all condis, get my hp back to 100% and get back some initiative and ele only gets some time to heal.
The only eles that stand a chance are the one capable of very high burst (almost pure berserkers) while having arcane shield on them – in this case I have to shadowstep before 5,2,2,2,2 – if my Shadowstep would be on CD I might get bursted but so far it never happened while I was playing a thief but I did burst some (rather bad) thieves this way while playing as an ele.
