Best Sigil for D/D
Well I DO know that if you have a sigil of Fire and a sigil of Battle, they will not proc at the same time, since they share internal cooldowns, so maybe switch to 5% damage or 5% critical chance sigil after getting 25 stacks?
so is it a fact blood+battle work together and u get 25 stacks power + 20secs of might? if so , would any “on crit sigil” work as a 3rd weapon?
Mhm… Sigil of Battle = 3 Stacks of Might on weapon switch and sigil of fire = chance of flame blast on crit. That work. I´m talking about switching weapon after 25 stacks are reached. I have tested this and it works on both:
Sigil of Battle + Sigil of Fire
Sigil of Battle + Sigil of Strength
But what is the best way? The flame blast has very good dmg, but more stacks of might are very nice to have.
I run with the major sigil that gives 2might stacks at weaponswap.. But is it bugged , i fot seem to get any might really

The other guy stated it correctly, all Sigils share the same internal cooldown. So if you get a fire blast and switch elements within 5 seconds, you won’t get 3 stacks of might, and if you switch elements and get 3 stacks of might, your crits won’t make fire blasts for 9 seconds. You do get the effects of both, but because they share cooldowns, it really isn’t optimal at all.
It took me like a month of playing D/D to finally question why it didn’t seem like superior sigil of battle was doing as much as I think it should, and I stumbled upon that shared internal cooldown blurb on the wiki in the Sigils article.
Interesting.. So basicly, when dual-weilding you should always have 1 on crit/get on swap sigil and One for increased duration/damage/crit or you Will kitten yourself? Thought i red something about different sigils having different cooldowns?

I run with the 30% chance on crit to chill target and 30% on crit to give Might on My daggers – run a high Crit Chance damage build without boons i have about 53% crit chance, Auras give another 20% for 5seconds, use Arcane Power for 5 crit hits as well.
Crit hits also have a chance for Burning and Vul from traits
I use Bloodlust + energy, and then swap out the BL sigil with a 5% damage sigil when I have 25 stacks.
The extra dodges you get from the sigil of energy will win a lot more fights than a couple of stacks of might.
we may consider whether or not there is an incarnation of [ele] that would be viable

This is correct. Proof: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jncAIlBbNk

No, it doesn’t. Remember that the Sigil itself has a cooldown of approximately ~9s which is why you’re not seeing it go off on each Attunement swap.

Energy isn’t bad, but with Renewing Stamina trait you already have perma-Vigor. Energy has an internal cooldown which you need to keep track of. You need to ensure that your Endurance is below 50% to gain the full effect as it does not proc on each Attunement swap (since it will be on cooldown).
I much prefer the “passive” effect of Battle which does not require me to micromanage additionally, especially as I already have perma-Vigor by itself.

I got +10 Precision / kill and 3 Stacks of Might on Swap.
Getting full stacks is easy peasy, with fury up constantly you’ll be at 80% crit crit critty crit crit. Perma vigor, dodge like a pro, racking up them kills.
Walk away a winner.

Ok, you´re right. Sorry I was wrong. But I have tested some Sigil now.
Sigil of Strength and Battle doesn´t share the same cooldown. So it´s possible to stack might and switch weapon to stack more might. That work, so now I think it´s clear what to use.
But now the question is: 5% more dmg or more might stacks
How do you guys get on swap sigils to work on a class that cant swap weapons?
How do you guys get on swap sigils to work on a class that cant swap weapons?
Attunement swapping counts as weapon swapping. That should be fairly obvious.

well seeing as you are not actually swapping weapons its not.

This guy is one of the more vocal whiners on how to “fix” the ele on these boards. Let that sink in for a while.

Yeah coz the state of Eles are amazing. However i know that nothing that gets said on these forums will matter, partly due to the fact i know about Anet and how long it took them to fix issues in GW1.
What exactly is wrong with wanting a class to not be bugged and have issues? They “fixed” an issue that players ENJOYED only to make it WORSE and yet cant manage to fix the issues that would make the class BETTER. Look at MG and RTL “Fixes” for just 2 examples

Yeah silly me – having a differing opinion equates to be being a “troll” when it comes to being online. Its okay though, i will at least try and enjoy the game and try and ignore all the issues and bugs…At least until ES:O or FF:ARR are released.
Maybe we should all be like you – Ignore all the issues, bugs, broken and bugged traits and skills and let Anet think they have the game working fine, when in fact it is NOT fine
If you want to talk about how to fix a subject you first have to know everything about that subject. You just showed you don’t even know the very basics about elementalists. Therefore your opinion is invalid.

Also aren’t you the guy posting around how he owns with his D/D ele staying in water all the time? Pardon me if that was another poster.
Or maybe coz i dont use weapon swap sigils, i never have. So why would i care about if they worked or not. I prefer ones that give increase in stats for kills or % chance on crits for an effect.
Its nice having weapon swap ones IF they suit the game play you play, if not then they are not that great and because i play a specific way – it means i learn how to play THAT way not others.
But yeah you got the wrong person, i commented on him saying i thought it was BS. I am more of a Air Swiftness and Crit damage build – High cirt chance and can cause Burning, Chill and Vul on crits while giving myself Might. I have around 56% Crit Chance without Boons. Auras give Fury so thats another increase as well
Yeah I already edited out the water part
Lately I’ve been thinking about an Hydromancy sigil, getting my enemy permanently chilled sounds nasty, I’ll have to give it a try and see how it turns out.

It has a 9second cool down though?
Or does that not affect attunement swapping?

in my case, it doesn’t seem to work w/ Bloodlust & Hydromancy whether it’s off hand or main hand. You can try it & let’s us know here.

If it does not proc when switching Attunements then it’s a bug and must be reported, I’ll try myself as soon as I can log in.

It should have a 9s cooldown, just like Sigil of Battle, shared with other “on swap” sigils.
What made me think about it is we can use Frozen Burst too, so during a 45s long fight we can: Attunement swap 5 times for 15s of chilled, use Frozen Burst 3 times for a total of 24s of chilled and have Frost Aura up which would add at least 2s.
That’s an insane amount of chilled uptime and we all know how nasty of a condition it is.

Just so you’re aware, chance on crit Sigils don’t stack. If you have two equipped, only one of them will actually work. Same goes for weapon swapping Sigils.
And as far as Sigils are concerned, attunement swap does equal a weapon swap. Weapon swap sigils have a 9 second internal cooldown.

I tend to be in Air most of the time so it doesnt really do that badly- i have at times had all of my crit conditions (Chill, Vul, Burning) on the target and had Might on Myself – the most i have gotten it to is about 6-7stacks thats from using RTL into crowds though i think so i think if i use that and it crits for everyone then they all get the condition(s) if it happens on the first target then it happens to them all and the more the attack crits on people the more Might stacks i have gotten
If your tanky build relies on healing by dodge-rolling, definitely get a sigil of energy.

It’s not possible to gain more than 1 stack of Might from Sigil of Strength by critting multiple targets, because it has a 1 second internal cooldown. You could theoretically have separate attacks crit once per second for 6 seconds and get 6 stacks of Might that way.
Also, your different Sigils can never proc simultaneously. While one is on internal cooldown, the other one can’t proc. Sigil of Ice has a 10 second cooldown. When it procs, neither your Sigil of Ice nor your Sigil of Strength can proc for 10 seconds after that.
This is why most people don’t run two chance on crit sigils.

I have had BOTH Might and Chill proc (they are the sigil ones i have) Burning and Vul are traits but yeah i have had 6 stacks before when AoE-ing the stacked goloms in the Mists, made sure i was doing it when no one is around to interfere or anything.
I will give it a try again tomorrow or something and see if its still the same
Its from my Combo Static Aura > RTL > Arcane Power > Auto Attacks
Static Aura means my Crit chance goes up to like 70% odd for like 5 seconds
