Best way to handle a Condi Mesmer?
if it would be wvw i would say ignor them, jump around them for 2 min not atking them, then just walk away
in pvp, its no problem as long as they dont stealth, if they stealth u should be able to cap anyway, dont blast the area w too much aoe, d/d ele has a lot of cleansees(meta build) while ur teammates may not, so try to take more care
i personally play s/x ele so pretty much most of my skills is single target based and can totally forget about on clone death traits on mesmer
if you focus on applying burns and poison, slowly whittling him down all you need to do is a timely dodge. Don’t lose your cool. Also mesmers have very poor chasing ability so if you see that y’r about to lose just go out of combat, cleanse and heal back up.
Many of the condi mesmers will apply confusion due to clones exploding so try and dodge those, destroying them will only apply more condi stacks on you.
I’ve been able to beat some condi mesmers, sometimes they have very low health so bursting them down in fire and air tends to work. If you beat ‘m before they can apply any conditions on you you’ll win 4 sure.
If its a PU Condition mesmer, i’d try to apply burning and bleed on him since mesmer condition cleanse is poor and when i see a breach try to LF + Burning Speed + Fire Grab for some burst, usually when he is at 50% hp +/-.
Never ever hit him when he is blocking to apply torment and if needed LoS his clones or channeling skills around walls, pillars, rocks.
If its a good pu condi memser you really dont have a chance unless you are exceptional players yourself.
1. Watch for scepter block do not attack the torment alone can do 10k+ damage is not cleansed.
2. What out for confusion they can stack pretty high.
3. Really think before you attack becuase killing clones will give you condi but if you dont kill them they will stack condition on you.
You said when you friend was just auto attacking with sigent on he survived for awhile if you dont attack them you will take less damage. That all you need to do survive and hold the point dodge kite and do the above and you will not die. The conquest game mode is not about killing its about holding cap points.
That type of mesmer cant hold points well(stealth to much), little group support, and low mobility. Its godly in duels and wvw roaming but its a bad spvp build for serious matches. Next time dont attack the mesmer and just kite dont attack the clones and see how long you survive.

Thanks for the tips, everyone. I have one more question, just so I don’t have to open another topic: Is the build I was using good or is there something else all the Elementalists are using nowadays? I mean, I felt like I could survive pretty comfortably and I almost always had 20+ stacks of Might in every battle. Any suggestions?
0/2/0/6/6 or 0/0/2/6/6 would be better, i prefer the first one more for zephyrs boon’s swiftness.
u can as well go for diamond skin and go hulko smash on them , and after they die , they shout : ‘diamond skin op’
Yeah… Or let’s not do that…

Hey I mained Mesmer since the beta and just recently switched to Ele thanks to all the nerfs. Most condition Mesmers you wil run into will be PU so here are some tips.
1. Most Conditon Mesmers are running clone death traits, meaning everytime you are close to a dying clone you will get a bunch of nasty conditons. With only two adept traits they can apply cripple, and either bleed/weakness/vulnerability. So kill the clones from afar or avoid killing them.
2. In the same vain for 3 points they can get a trait that makes their clones inflict bleeding every time they crit, and clones take on the Mesmers crit chance and damage. If they have this and the above traits(Common in the meta PU build) you will have to kill their clones ot mitigate their condi damage, which might justi nflict more condis on you.
3. When they exit stealth avoid the urge to try and knocj them down or burst them hard. More often than not they will have Aegis and Protection after coming out of stealth, which will heavily negate your damage.
4. Avoid the scepter block, it inflicts 5 stacks of torment, and it is deadly.
Hope this helps you out
cant agree with 2^
killing clones gonna kill himself
altho u need to kill iDuelist
Yeah A full duelist burst onto you will get 8 stacks of bleed if it all hits you, not to mention the 2-3k damage it does on its own if every shot crits. So some illusions, mostly phantasms, need to be taken out just to alleviate pressure.
You’ll lose burst but you should have little problem surviving the condi onslaught and still pressure the mesmer into stealth and/or off point by going dagger/focus:

Something like that should just about do it. Pace the condi cleanses apart to avoid an opening to condi burst, but keep it consistent … basically alleviating the condi pressure and using what sustain you do have to keep your health up. Swirling Winds, Magnetic Wave, and if necessary Obsidian Flesh should give you some great defensive options as well considering no small portion of the condis are coming from ranged attacks (Staff auto/clones, iMage).
