I know everyone’s focused on the evasive arcana nerf, and it was bad.

But there’s something the class needs before we can do much of anything interesting.

Playing without tons of points in arcane is AWFUL. I still can’t leave 30 arcane.

Why? Because of the attunement cooldown reduction bonus from arcane. It’s so necessary in order to play the profession properly. Have you tried doing something like going just 10 in arcane? It feels ridiculous. You end up standing around doing #1 attacks after you’re into a fight a bit because you’re waiting on cooldowns. Other professions are designed to use their #1 attack more often and the #2 thru #5 abilities are appropriately more powerful. Not so with elementalists.

Baseline cooldown on attunements needs to be reduced from 15 seconds. The 9 second cooldown with 30 arcane feels completely right, it’s exactly what is needed to play properly…yet it means going 30 into a trait every time. Something needs to be done here.

9 seconds should be baseline. Change the profession bonus from arcane to something else. If that means some sort of adjustments made elsewhere to compensate for the fact that we would get a new bonus we don’t have now, fine. But I’ve never felt so locked into a trait/talent tree as I do with this one in any game. the fact that the other bonus is boon duration, something eles really want a ton of, doesn’t help either.

Agreed that the class REQUIRES rapid attunement swapping. That’s the class concept. That’s what makes it fun. And since the 1 skills are in most cases weak, it’s also crucial for effectiveness.

i agree 100% with what you say, as a DD ele i need to change up fast.Sadly there’s not much that works well in it like final sheilding dont proc when u hit 25%life but it procs at 10%life and windborne dagger still still does not work at all. most of our triats dont help eachother to much , but w.e maybe there will be less ele’s now and only hardcores will play em
