Update of Cleansing Waters will be greatest nerf of Ele since Evasive Arcana (nooo~) nerf. Soon we will not have any realy useful grandmaster traits…
Will you Really nerf of Signet of Restoration? Ok, all will be use only Ether Renewal+Armor of Earth, and you are will nerf it too. It can remove conditions.. so all realy will use it soon. And Arena will say “we must do MOAR good builds for ele!”. And will nerf it. NERF! NERF!!
We had not useful elite skills for big www fights already.

Bunker, dps ele or whatever you might be are still really strong even after this stuff, we have one of the strongest staying power even in a glassy build.

It won’t change only glassy builds. In www melee (and ranged) glassy builds are .. a little bad. xD
I play in D\D, D\F, S\D since beta events.. Ranged builds too boring for me. (and i think, for great amount of eles)
While it is true that the elementalist will be struck by the nerfbat in the next patch, there is a possibility that we may also get a few buffs. Ideally those buffs should make a few other talent setups viable… I am getting really sick of the 0/10/0/30/30 (S/D)/D-build.
Before they launched GW2, ArenaNet liked to emphasize that their talent system would be largely free of cookie-cutter builds, allowing many builds to be viable in PvP.
Well… somebody didn’t do their homework.
We want more than just one good build option (with some small possible variations)!

Signets → useless (will still be useless even after patch. Even if you spec into signets you can’t make use of the condition damage from earth)
Conjures → useless
Elites → useless
Glyphs → useless
what is left? Right, cantrips and arcane spells. Cantrips get nerfed, arcane spells are left – but they don’t offer the survivability that we desperately need with lowest HP and toughness (same goes for fire and air traits).
I think it might be a good idea to redo some utilities to offer defense in addition to cantrips and also offer defensive traits in fire and air traitlines.
A) the patch isn’t out yet. wait and see what else happens.
B) if you’re playing D/D, suck it up. it’s the most OP ele spec available. those of us playing S/D or staff are eating one hell of a bigger nerf than D/D is.

I think that boils it down to the essence.
The class with the lowest HP and armor and rather mediocre damage needs some reworking! The only thing elementalists excel at is surviving- due to constantly being on the go, removing conditions and having regeneration up. (Note: Don’t get me wrong, we also can deal damage. Our squishieness/damage ratio is just way lower than other classes’)
Why not give us elementalists other options?

Lowest HP and Armor should have the highest in Burst and Mobility. It’s just logical, right? I’d say common sense but, it’s obviously not so common
This is the inherent problem. All the company appear’s to care about is vindication for their E-Sport idea. Everything else is coming in a distant second.
S/d users must be crying after patch..at least d/d has other 2 mobility skills to catch up.
S/d needs melee range to burt and rtl being 40 sec..well it explains itself
