Bleed Build?
I run this. It’s entirely single-target and relies on a weapon type (giver’s) and food, so it doesn’t work in PvP
Ramps up to max bleed stacks in 12-16 seconds, can inflict burning with 100% uptime and if you’re an asura, poison with about 80% uptime. Defense comes entirely from the earth skills; damage drops off severely if you leave earth attunement.
Glyph and Radiation Field are optional, but Glyph offers perma-cripple, and Radiation Field offers the only poison it can really use.
Rotation: Use Glyph if you feel it’s necessary, Rock Barrier if necessary, Signet and Radiation Field on cooldown. The majority of damage comes from the earth auto-attack. Rock Barrier’s chain can extend the duration of poison if cast through Radiation Field (adds about 1.9 seconds of poison per hit)
Leaving Earth for any reason hurts it a lot. Rely on earth 4/5 for defense.
There aren’t any good ranged 1v1 builds period. The best you can manage is probably something like the above, which still suffers because you have to fight the class mechanic (attunement swapping) to be effective.

I was about to disagree with you because a week or 2 ago, someone posted a very potent scepter/dagger burst build. But then I realized it used dagger off-hand, and wasn’t really a ranged build. So I guess that doesn’t count. :-)
S/F earth atunement + cond. duration all the way. Glyph of storms or you could do the churning earth+lightning flash combo for 8 stacks of bleed and some high direct damage. +rampager stats and sigil of earth for a few more bleeds.

I can only assume you’re referring to staff eles in PvE and WvW, then.
pve wise you can use staff to reach periodically 25 bleed stack alone and perma burn with high uptime of poison(asura skill ,sigil of doom) with plenty of chill,vulnerability,cripple and hard cc.
And all that aoe.But just pve that is since eruption takes too long to go off making it unreliable vs human beings Plus you need to stay in earth to stack bleed which hinders your abiliy to apply aoe burning (still single target is possible) plus you miss tones of the on swap bnenefits of eart and water which essentially keep elementalist alive
Hello everyone, I just rerolled from Ranger, and my old build (Which I found fairly fun) was a Bleed shortbow build. Is there a good ranged, bleed build for Elementalist right now?
