Boon duration versus Altruism
PvE I use 4 altruism and 2 water. This allows me to start combat with 10 stacks of might almost instantly. Though this isn’t always beneficial since set ups like S/D can hold 25 might stacks very easily.
However in PvP or WvW those “useless” boons become some of the most important boons.

Thats top 21 and you cant really keep it up.
Anyways, 4/2 seems to be indeed a fair trade. As for useless boons, Regen is pretty much always useless on duration, even if its good for Cleansing Water trigger. Swiftness is so common that its hardly an issue.

With boon duration I can hold.
9 from swapping
2 from fire attune
3 from phoenix
6 from dragon tooth
3 from earthquake
3 from churning
6 from evasive arcana
Thats 32 stacks I can generate easily with basic rotations and I wouldn’t be trying to stack. Only thing as I said its good for is starting a fight with 10 stacks as opposed to 0.
Swiftness and regen is flying around in zergs that’s not everyone’s preferred play style though.
