Bored of D/D....

I have been running D/D for close to 500hr out of the 600hr that i total on my ele. Recently I decided to pick up the scepter again, and it has been a blast. I would recommend playing with that instead of dagger main hand and choose either focus or dagger off hand. Both are fun its just personal preference. Having scepter main hand allows for some great build diversity to pull away from the 10/30/30 kind of builds, but if you arnt comfortable with that you dont have to. Dragon tooth in a team fight is pretty fun (especially when you are breaking up a zerg, because sometimes they dont see it coming and it hits for like 4k-6k alone). I have full pvt gear and I am working on my zerker set. So far it still works great with pvt. It will just be a little more effective with some zerkers mixed in because of the crit chance.
I prefer s/f to d/f. There just isn’t much synergy with d/f, it’s kind of like they forgot those weapons could be equipped together during development. Most skills on focus have a 900 range (same as scepter) or a ranged component (projectile reflect on the only PBAoE). The gap closers on dagger mainhand aren’t even 900 range, making combo initiation clunky.
I use full knight’s gear with rubies in every slot, traits are 0-30-0-30-10, and I swap major traits around to get different levels of survivability or damage output. It’s a much squishier (less forgiving) build than the popular bunker, but I found that the tanking skills on focus make it quite workable, even for soloing (although it is really best in mid-sized group combat).

its obious they are meant to be played together. Still even in harder pve content like frac 30+ I offten preffer s/d for the blast finishers and better team support. Focus is not so much party oriented and guardian wall of refection is way better in fractals cuz it also deals damage and focus only prevents projectile damge. I use focus only on push harpies in asuran fractal.
s/f with 20 10 30 0 10 using alot of the signet traits and all signets (lacks stunbreak, change 1 signet to cleansing fire, this will reduce the ability to have 100% protection).
I find if you use the focus well you can survive a suprizing amout of damage (almost negates ranged attacks for 20 sec).
Facing your foe is the biggest issue, if someone ‘weaves’ you then most of hte focus skills will go on cd and fail to even try to hit, they cannot be cast backwards.

SnD and SnF and Staff eles are walking free WXP for me. Unlike you i did the opposite, 100 hrs in staff, then 200 in SnF, then straight to DnD+ Staff(depending on combo need, situation, etc) and have never looked back.
SnF as a pure glass in a grp was fun though. A1 got a buff if im not wrong
