Buff staff air please...
I would rather make Gust into a cone that knocks down for a second or maybe even launches. Or at the very least make it instant knockback instead of a slow moving projectile, and much wider so that it can effect more in a line.

Summon a mighty whirlwind. You can activate the spell again to release the storm. On release the storm will fly in the direction it was cast, dealing magic damage to enemies and knocking them into the air. The damage done, knock up duration and distance traveled by the whirlwind increase for each second it channels to a maximum of 3.
I think Air is generally fine. A Blind, a Knockback, Swiftness and a Static Field are four useful skills. I would like to see the projectile speed on the autoattack increased, and I wish the knockback were more reliable.

Really most of staff air is fine except for Gust. Static field is great and winborne speed is great as well. The auto attack is alright and discharge great for the blindness. However, gust hits only a single target and rarely even hits its victim. I would say to completely scrap this skill and replace it with a large cone attack that deals really good damage. Fire and air are used for damage whereas water is for support and earth for defense. So it only really makes sense to make air have more damage.
Air is supposed to be a mix of damage and control… that being said i’d much rather they change the 3 skill to a close range cone AoE that is a Blow Out instead of a long range, very hard to land, tiny knock back.

Gust needs a faster travel time and wider cone
Lightning surge needs a reasonable cast time – blinding someone after a 1.5s cast is just a crapshoot, with less total dps than the pitiful autoattack.
Autoattack needs to only hit 1 person and do actually reasonable damage (more than double of the current dps).

Staff is supposed to be all about AoE so i get why it’s not single target… but it’s just so weak and useless, i’d like it if it did more damage or bounced more times at the current damage…
I would LOVE if our 2 was a “charge” skill again IE longer you hold the button the more powerful it becomes, so you can use it for essentially an instant burst to blind them, or charge it up for a nuke of damage + blind as a secondary effect.

I hate that explanation, because we don’t have any weapon swap. Now, I don’t think the single-target capabilities should excelletgiven how strong the aoe capability is in other attunements, but air should at least give an ele reasonable single-target damage such that he has a fighting chance when trying to fulfill that role. Right now, a staff ele alone is a free kill (unless hes an ineffective bunker).
We are supposed to be a jack of all trades, which means there is nothing that you are terrible at. Staff ele is terrible at single-target damage.

Really, the #1, #2 and #3 are useless or too weak. The #1 is useless to use (use fire #1 instead, do more damage), the #2 have too much cast time and the #3 always miss…

1 – add 100 range
2 – subtract 1/4 second activation
3 – change knockback to launch
4 – add 150 rush forward
ideal, you would get more bounces on skill 1, cast time on 2 would ultimately reduce to one second, the track would widen on skill 3, and 4 would retain its current animation while being a leap forward {but not a combo ‘leap’ finisher}
Well how about gust was replaced with a cone shaped electronic knock back with good damage. That way it adds damage and mobility. And the projectile should be faster, I’m shooting balls of electricity that kitten should be moving fast.

Is rather have a stronger CC than a knock back (like a launch) with minimal to no damage, I am totally ok with the short range cone though!

Maybe instead of removing the bounce give staff air 1 bonus damage if the attack wont bounce, like an isolation damage bonus.
As for other ideas in this thread; Lightning surge being a charge, ie hold for longer: more damage would be amazing(the possibilities) . Gust being a short range cone blowout would be perfect.

The blind should be instant or 0.25sec. The opportunity cost is too high, most Eles don’t even use it.
Staff’s primary problem is Lightning Surge isn’t instant or on a very short cast time which makes Fresh Air terrible for staff builds. I would also help if the first target of chain lightning took a little more damage to make switching to Air to finish off targets more realistic. Today, you give up too much single target damage switching out of Fire to Air to make Air useful.
The first three skills are underwhelming. Gust has clumsy functionality, and the design behind Lightning’s Surge and Chain Lightning is not working very well.
