Yeah I’ve been testing it and it’s no longer giving any blast finisher. lame!
Did they even test this patch? How come they changed it and didn’t see that it’s glitched?
It’s not giving blast finishers for me either. Not at the target location or my location.

Should the title be in CAPITAL to get their attention, maybe? I can’t believe this is real… Weren’t they supposed to test changes “for some time”, before release?
I can’t live without one stack of might, please fix this ASAP.
better to just reroll at this point, or stop playing. Might was the only thing making this class playable, and now you will struggle to get more that 6, unless you use Arcane blast.
What I find most amusing is that the rangers bugged trap CD was fixed within hours of the patch being released, who wants to bet that it will be at least the next major patch before they fix this bug?
Just tested it; that bug is indeed in there. No point playing s/d until it is fixed.
For clarity, I tested by dropping the DT on melee enemies who are within the ROF.
Yep it’s definitely bugged. However, even if it worked with this functionality, isn’t it going to be really difficult to finish your own combos?
It’s easier to position yourself in a field and trigger the finisher, than it is to ensure that the tooth lands in a field… Actually, I wonder if this new functionality would mean that it only triggers upon landing?
It’s still broken though. This bug fix is like… a kick in the teeth or something
Even pre-patch, the whole scepter/dagger rotation only worked well in melee range. The stated functionality change doesn’t really change that.

Bunker builds, or more generally water and arcane traitline speccs, were and are the only things making this class playable.
You can still get some nice might stacking by picking fire’s cantrip trait in your bunker cantrip-regeneration-condition removal builds. And now that Mist Form recharges 20% faster (in pvp only, though), you have pretty much the perfect 10/0/10/30/10 setup, with 10 free points to be spent whenever you like best (air for glyph recharges?).
Dragon’s tooth still doesn’t count as a blast finisher I ll update topic this as often as I can to make sure Anet is aware of this.

I tested it over and over again by dropping my DT right inside my RoF in HotM and got nothing from it, even dead center. So if it was suppose to give the stacks after it fell, it doesn’t; on the other hand if it gives the stacks at the start of the animation, it still doesn’t.

Please don’t tell ANet which skills*/traits* still do work. We should keep those secret, let they “fix” those too.
- I’m using the plural here on the assumption that there’s another working skill and one or more working traits. Call me optimistic.
I have noticed this bug too. It’s always a little disheartening when a “bug fix” creates more problems than it fixes. Please fix this immediately with a hotfix.

Everyone please keep replying in this topic so anet knows we wants this fixed asap. It’s simply not acceptable for Dragon’s tooth to have no blast finisher anymore after they supposably fixed the skill.
Maybe EA was meant to still have some blast finishers and is suffering from the same bug? Would explain the “unintended blast finishers” comment in patch notes…. One can hope anyway….

It is pretty obvious that Anet never test ANYTHING elementalist related. One guy using Dragon’s Tooth would have seen this…just ONE guy.
Im not one to complain too much about bugs or bugfixes, but they just CHANGED the whole blast finisher thing with the spell. It worked fine before, so you’d think that in the process of changing something you actually take it into the game, right? This perticular bug is just stupid.
Lets try to keep this topic at the top so the devs read it.
@Anet: can we please have an update on this. Are you guys aware of this issue?

Don’t worry. Anet will fix this bug in the next patch. The tooltip will be changed so that the skill will work as intended.

People, you should file bug reports in-game instead of complaining in this thread.
While ArenaNet staff read the forums, they might miss this specific thread. Bug reports will get specifically looked at by them. Especially if a bug is reported by hundreds of people. (Just don’t count on a reply to your bug report.)
This broken blast finisher makes me have 3 might less than before.
Also, I really think that the blast on cast, and not on target was better.
S/D Ring of fire → phoenix → Dragons Tooth = 6 Might (8 if fire spells give might)
You can still switch to earth, and use #4 and #5 as blast finishers in addition to Phoenix. (For the record, Churning Earth triggers as a blast finisher at the START of casting.)
Then switch to air and Lightning Whip them for a few seconds.
I am confident that the Dragon’s Tooth bug will get fixed with the next update, or the week after that (if it requires internal testing to rule out any new bugs).
I ve already made a report ingame, but I find that the forums actually stir up more attention then the ingame reports do.
Still I do agree that everyone should be civil and constructive in this topic, so we can help anet fix this bug asap.

Finishers have been bugged for a while now. It is jsut now becoming more obvious since people are looking for it.
Finishers will randomly.. just not trigger. If I am duoing with a ranger, abilities of mine with blast finishers should always trigger aoe healing in their water fields. Especially when they run to me and plant it on me then run away. ..oh well. This entire class and it’s over dependancy on mechanics no other class cares about is broken, and only getting worse with each patch.

The text pops up at start but actual blast finisher happens at the end. So usually not the most handy as blast finisher, but can be used.
I would trade Dragons Tooth blast for it being ground targeted tho.

This (along with the Mist Form trait CD not applying in PvE) happens 100% of the time. I (as an ordinary player) managed to demonstrate both bugs within 60 seconds.
It appears that nobody at ANet tested these changes — not the programmer who made them, nor the QA department.
I just wonder even if the DT is fixed that will do blast where it lands, how many people will manage to get a blast finisher combo field from this skill. Not more than %5 i will say.
You need a enemy in the friendly combo field which wont be expire in 2-3 seconds.

For the record, blast finisher triggers at start of casting but you get might end of casting.
Dragon’s tooth is still bugged after this small update.
Next time i really hope they leave in such bugs untill they are 100% sure they can fix it..

RTL is totally broken as well. It always overshoots the target now.
The bug is that the tool-tips haven’t been updated to reflect the nerfs.

No news that I know of, but I hope they fix it soon. It doesn’t seem like something that would be too hard to fix or roll back till they get a proper fix.
I’m hoping this is fixed in the next patch but what are the chances of that…
