Till now i’m been running pretty much a pure berserker build, which for the most part has served me ok for dagger and really well for staff for PvE. However I am now looking into focusing more on Dagger as my main choice weapon and there fore need a build that is more forgiving when taking a few sucker punchs in melee rather then going down after 1 or 2 hits with my current glass jaw.

So far this is what I’v come up with. For the most part this is aiming at being a PvE build but I do run around in WvW every now and then too.

if anyone got any idea on tweaks and changes let me know.

Here’s a good starter build for d/d and s/d. If you save up enough for ascended trinkets and divinity runes you can get this build up to 1700 toughness and 96% crit damage with 38% base crit chance that fury takes up to 58%. http://intothemists.com/guides/1021-ele_starter_build_vitality_trade_off.

I really wouldn’t take Glyph of Storms. It won’t do much in WvW and even in PvE you’re better off just grabbing faster-recharging utility.

From a trait perspective, if you’re looking for extra survivability it’s hard to pass up having 15 water, which will probably do more for you than Earth’s Embrace in the long run. Since you seem to want the extra damage from Stone Splinters, I’d just go 0/10/10/20/30 and grab some cantrip recharge to get your utilities up faster. It gives you more access to the defense you have complete control over and improves your healing without sacrificing your damage.

I guess the rest of it is really up to preference. I prefer to have a slightly higher base power level, but I don’t use battle sigils right now so that will definitely make up for it in any extended fight.

Take a look at the build in my signature

Since you want a bit more survivability I suggest you read the “About the gear” paragraph carefully.

Enjoy!
