Hello again everyone!

After hitting 80 last night and getting a set of celestial gear, I started playing around with the idea of creating a more “hybrid” concept mainly because it’s something that nobody would likely expect. I’ve played around with a few times now and it’s kinda saw how fast it will drop “squishy” classes like thieves. Again, while it’s using the actual gear I have, I’m not sure the traits are balanced enough yet.

Can you all take a moment to look at this and pick out things that just don’t look right to you?

As always, thanks for your thoughts. I learn a ton from you all every time I come to the forums!

Sort of “hybrid Condi” is not a “new thing” on ele, neither on d/d staff nor septer… (condi septer might actually be the flavor atm)

It kinda work out, but isn’t meta because we lack diversity in this area? you also lower the dmg you do from water and air a lot. If you get against someone who lack condi removing and anti condi food, it will give you the edge on him…
Anyway, whatever floats your boat! in your setup i would probably go for signet gm and add fire signet instead of teleport, or go 2 pts in fire for burn on crit.

I ran into a VERY strong staff Elem earlier on live and was excited to see it -time4nerf-

I went back and made the changes you suggested and will try this out later this evening. I ran a similar build long, long time ago with all condi gear and perplexity runes. It felt pretty OP at the time but the mobility sucked. If I was in a decent fight and a zerg came over the hill, there was no way I would be able to escape.

I figured with all the gear I’ve collected, I should probably have an alternate build to play around with.

Well speaking about roaming, awareness is the thing that will help you the most, all class and build include (unless thieves and got it so easy you don’t really need to care)

Beside awareness, FGS is the savior. I would probably get focus on offhand for invuln and overall survivability (but yeah no more rtl..) since earth 5 in pvp is so easy to avoid unless you burn a stun/port with it.
Mobility wise you could always ditch a signet for mobility utility. Or take air signet.. aoe blind isnt useless!

I would also have a second look at the runes you use, go either for another source of condition, or traveler runes who get along well with celestial imho. (and yeah, mobility!

So in the end im going to rebuild around my ele that i havent play for so long… going cele trinkets, dagger/focus, earth XII and II , full signet with prolly air/earth/water -fgs- and rune of traveler.
Also water 10 for anti condi, along signet and focus that should be fine… that somthing your build would miss… and arcane II so i wont miss energy sigil.

edit:
smthing like this seems more hybrid http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fFEQJAodlcMoshFOwvB8rNwHQQc8ZcRwSx6UA-TlyCwAAOBA73fAlGC3mg+q8Tkegbq/w4ACKBLcgAk8AACAgAwNv5OP6RTKAtmGB-w

Try taking 300-400 condi damage and adding that to power. Condi actually isn’t very good in wvw on ele.

I find that it really depends on what your doing, is it solo roam or small team roaming?

If you solo roam or run with 1-3 other guys i find that condie burst removal is a must have. I run the following if solo or small team roaming for funz.

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fFAQJAoYhcMKc23wxBf0AGACxoDDOIQ5ubDD-TFTHABlpDoOlgLq2hSKJSUFEY2foJlQwpFIgHAAjqCAwJA4IlLkCYRlVA-w

You do loose alot of condie dmg by not going 4 into earth for Strenght of Stone, but you gain a much higher burning uptime and abit better soft CC + immob uptime.
I do not personally understand why you would take signet of fire over cleansing fire?

You will get 25% movement speed from windborne dagger, the missing Renewing Stamina (vigor) you get from Soothing Disruption instead, more controllable + regen.
Evasive arcana is actually quite nice both as offense and defense as condie (your sustain with 500-700 healing stat will be quite good) and you can get a safestomp with the blind on air roll when needed.

Also pack a focus, its quite nice for certain fights and gives you and additional condie burst removal + reflect and other goodies. My worst enemy as condie ele is a good necro with condie transfers + boonstrip/conversion, a focus is always handy in a fight like that and against condie thief’s + condie/power rangers aswell.

I feel like the utility lost by not speccing into just Water and Arcana is too great.

Also, Written in Stone is pretty bad, even with 3 sigs. You’re probably better off taking Diamond Skin if you’re going this route.

Have you tried Perplexity Runes, those are pretty funny.
