I have been playing Ele since launch. But never taken mine into WvW. It is only level 22. I am a PvP player. But I have had a strong presence in WvW on my warrior and theif for a very long time.

In that time there has been some pretty nasty Ele’s out there. I am always up with Meta specs. But I know the thing with Eles in WvW is D/d.

Here my attempt at a WvW spec for all you WvW eles tell me your thoughts. Once I can sort a build out I am crafting that thing to 80 and kitten face in WvW.

-Condition cleanse: This build will be demolished by anything with condis. The signet is o.k., but in wvw you can get damage from so many more sources that you can’t keep up (even though it is more effective than it is in pvp). I have found that your best options are either ether renewal or glyph heal.

-Dolyak runes are really bad. The +boon duration runes (2 traveler, 2 water, and 2 monk) are way more effective in wvw than pvp: they are +15% boon duration as opposed to + 10%. This can give you very high uptime of protection, regen, vigor, and might.

-You are better from a dps perspective to go for about = crit% and crit. damage %. When you factor in fury (which you will get near perma from swapping + zephyr’s boon), you could stand to take more crit damage and less precision

-You need a backslot item

-I prefer arcane shield to armor of earth, as it allows you to get away much better (it protects you from immob)

I have also been working on a glyph build that makes use of the additional boons from inscription as well, the boon duration from the runes, and some food to try and retain superiority in a more drawn-out fight. This is b/c D/D can’t burst hard enough to end fights very quickly so it has to play a longer-game. GoEP is really strong in air for this to keep high weakness uptime on your enemies. I also am getting a little more condi-clear from the food so every heal still clears a condi:
