I apologize for bad english and typo,im a not-native from-cellphone user.
So,i already used this section of the forum asking for advice about my d/f ele.Im quite enjoing it and i started finally having nice run understanding how it works.I never considered going staff becouse i see it (and maybe im wrong) less “elementalis” and more “fire mage”,by camping in fire attitument all day if no situation is needed^^
BUT im going to try it out anyway becouse i want to learn all the aspects of this wonderful profession (condi ele you are next :] )
ALL of this is my vision of how i shall play the staff elementalist.Its just my first impression andbis probably WRONG.So this is my build,i will explain it soon:

I dont have HoT and this is why im struggling with this build:as now,i cant really find any guide about staff ele updated without tempest included :[
So,my vision off staff ele is to camp fire for dmg.I found foking great the perma field we can lay down (fire,water and occasionally ice&lighting) but i found myself in a great loss of combo finisher!
We basically have finisher only in Heart attunement!Ican add some by putting an arcane spell to blast areas,but still usually im alone pveing and i just cry for the lack of blast :’(
Also,the nerf at the dodge attunement spell mastery hit hard i think this class,as they are no more blast (sadly discovered today :[ )
Talking about my utility:
I found that elite elemental is a must on ele,even more in this class wich cant face tank too much and relies on rewiening stamina for surviability.
Sometimes i feel a second elemental can be nice(almost always in heart attunement) so i take the lesser one.I still find gliph of storm really strong (but maybe im wrong) even after the bow nerf,but i dont know if the conjured is still good anymore,so i switched in the arcane blast.
For last,i had the condition removal heal.
Is at this moment that i realized i have basically 3 gliph,so im tryng atm a full kitten mode(the one linked) with the trait “inscription”,and the not so good gliph in the healskill,but im still testing.
As for the other traits,i choose fire becouse we perma fire,air basically fir the bonus ferocity and last spec i basically only have viable left watwr and arcane,and i choose the second one; it gives me boons,and %bonus dmg on boons^^
My last concern is the rotation spell: with basically only one blast spell (if im using the arcane utility) i feel like in solo the firefield is akmost wasted,and switching in heart for some finiscer is not really optimal,becouse the aa is mhe and the projectile has a long cd.
So: is the right approach to staff build?how should i rotate spell if i want max dps and i dont need situational rotation?
