Building Elementalist
there are two mandatory trait resets as you level, and you can reset your traits at any time for mere pocket change, and the rest of your build is based on equipment, that you’ll obviously be replacing continually as you level up, so building for “endgame” has nothing to do with leveling
Pick up gear with power and/or condition damage as you level, and take earth and fire traits at low levels
At high levels, switch to gear with power and crit damage and precision, and take traits in fire and air, optionally taking 10 points in earth for stone splinters
that’ll get you levels the fastest. dunno about easiest. that part depends on you
as for weapons and skills, use daggers early on, and once you’re level 30 or so, if you feel like switching to staff, take 10 points in arcana for blasting staff
any of the conjured weapons are also great while leveling, as is glyph of storms and arcane wave (use inside a fire field for best results)
Glyph of storms in earth is awesome in PvE solo, because with the very slow rate of mob attacks, you are essentially invulnerable and dealing damage for the duration.
Frost Bow is also awesome because it has a 5-second stun (still applies chill on defiant enemies) as well as a shotgun chill on 3 and huge AoE damage on 4.
I recently lvl’d an Ele for a friend via crafting + completing storyline. It was so ridiculously easy. Both the fire-staff and the LH builds are OP even at low lvl.
The two easiest ways to lvl are:
1) Unlock the summon Lightning Hammer utility and put 10 trait points in Fire for Conjurer; or
2) Get 30 trait points and put them in Fire for Persisting Flames, Pyromancer’s Alacrity, and Internal Fire. Then get a staff and spam 1, 2, and 5.
