I can’t do anything to anyone underwater. I have full WvW incaders gear with Exquisite Sapphire gems, and Dolyak runes.
It seems like every other class has high damage underwater and better escapes.

I don’t have toughness on my trident, and the rune is for kraits. I’ll put battle on the pvt trident whenever I manage to get that.

lure your enemy to a wall or ground then make earth-4 followed by water-5 against wall/ground and then water-2/2 and water-3/3. Only way to bring enough pressure on your enemy to actually kill him. All other skills (maybe except elite, which can be dodged easily) are quite useless.
Make sure to also use at least one or even two arcane Spells.

Just use CC under water and try to get out of it asap.

Lol, I kitten under water. I do kind of hate fighting under water though. 3d fighting ain’t my cup of tea. No problem when people can run right and left, back and forth but when they can run (swim) up and down too it just sux.

Well since 14/12 I think our water battleas has been improved allot. I have no fear of water anynmore =).

I usually usually starts of whit fire and cast of all those spells (leaving 2 for last) Then I cast nr 2 then switch to water use nr 5, > nr 3 > nr 2. Then if I need I use nr4. Els I switch to Air and just finish them of.

Underwater fighting is a bit to easy when. We have a disable in every attunement. You can stealth yourself with a earth 5 and water 5 combo. You can use air 3 to misdirect and escape. Air 4 up, Earth 4 down, Fire 4 slow, Water 3 slow, etc. It is only difficult to fight multiple invaders underwater. It just take awhile to get use to that weapon and most do not have an exotic one.

I can fight underwater but barely, sometimes I win but usually my tactic is survive long enough to get to the shore. My water weapon sis just as good as my land weapon. I find it’s just lack of practice that makes it hard (not being used to chains and combos). With my mesmer killing people is so easy – just dodge roll a few times.. they usually die from confusion (trident clones).

How are you guys not dominating underwater?

In my honest opinion, elementalists are the strongest underwater profession. We have so much burst and control that in 1v1, we are practically unbeatable.

You guys have CC in each attunement. USE THEM.

I agree with Azunai, eles are the best underwater class. In WvW I can frequently win 1v2s and 1v3 if underwater. Baiting people into the water is a tactic I use often. Many people are not good at underwater combat, I take advantage of that.
