Seriously guys, aren’t you fed up of it already?
Can’t we get more stream/video threads or general “This is what I did on my Ele!” threads, PvE or PvP – anything is better than the doom and gloom that is constantly plaguing this part of the forum. ._.

So lets make this thread about sharing experiences, whether good or bad, funny or sad, it can be what ever you want, even the small things! (Screenies/Vids allowed ofc, just keep it civil, please)

I’ll start with something small – I was proud of myself when I solo’d the rampaging Golem (The event that is just down from the Fire Elemental) in Metrica province on my level 14 Human Ele, I used S/D and it was the 1st Champion I solo’d, I know it’s not an amazing level 80 Champ but it still makes you feel pretty kitten good. xD
I lost the screenshot though, well not lost it never took it. =(

So who’s next?

I actually have a video thread right now (it’s on the second page) but I plan on bumping it after recording some more tPvP game play on my ele later today, check it out there are a few videos already there.

I’ll bite! I was actually thinking of making a similar thread.

Here’ a story behind one of my favorite moments in WvW. It wasn’t all that obscure or spectacular, but it was fun: I was standing on the wall of a keep as we beat back the last few dregs of an assault. The last enemy out was running from a whole bunch of my allies, so I swapped to Earth and fired off #5. Needless to say, the foe died that day.

Oh, there was also a sPvP match from a few days back where I had three or four enemies chasing me all around the map for the better part of 5 straight minutes. I’d gone S/D with a couple cantrips and Arcane Shield and just kept healing and popping Ride the Lightning every time they thought they’d closed in on me. I think we still lost that game because were were woefully outnumbered, but I didn’t care because being chased can be terribly fun sometimes, especially when you’re incredibly slippery.

There actually are quite a few decent threads here. DaPhoenix has a really good one, and there are others as well. Problem is that they get buried under all of the class whine threads.

D’you know what’s even MORE fun? If you’re D/D, use RTL to quickly catch up to them, move in front of them and updraft (knocking them back TOWARDS your rampaging zerg).

Then just /laugh as the zerg takes em out. Good times, good times…

@Blain, Haha, yeah, Ele is great for that. I especially love teleporting into unsuspecting zergs and updrafting/knocking them down while you proceed to RTL out of there.
I had a similar experience in sPvP too, I think it was on Foefire, I was using S/D too. There where 3 people chasing me, a Mesmer, Warrior and a Guardian and I just ran them round in circles for a while, untill RTL decided to get me stuck in the terrain (A couple of rocks near the Mine) then I was pretty screwed. =(
I don’t think people realize that being a distraction is actually a valid tactic and that usually they’re playing into your trap. I did it on the new map, again 3 (There was 4 until I updrafted them down the hole >=]) people chasing me (This time D/D) I kept them occupied for a while and because of it we captured all 3 points. =3

@Cres, I know but it would be great to have more, plus their threads are more dedicated to their own feats. I am surprised that pheo’s guide hasn’t been stickied, it really needs to be.

Made a warrior kill himself on his own kill shot! I only popped magnetic aura because there was a ranger and rifle warrior focusing me, I didn’t know he was charging his kill shot.

Also it’s great being able to play bunker Ele again!

rode the lightning to them
started the stomp.
mist form
stomped.
picked up loot.
then vapor formed back to the keep.

I prefer to stay well clear of all the whiny threads and simply enjoy my Elementalist in solo and guild WvW. If fun footage is what you want, my channel has a decent amount of it.

I couldn’t be happier about how the Elementalist performs and the challenges it has, to be honest. It’s refreshing that it’s a class that takes quite a bit of finesse to play well.

Fun times? There was this one time I used a stealth fountain in the EB jumping puzzle, and Gusted a Thief down into a group of my server which he was preventing from going further.

Maybe that wasn’t fun, but it was poetic justice. An ele who stealth ambushed a thief for a change…

@Gremlin, Lol! I would’ve never done that, I bet they wasn’t expecting that one.

@Intigo, couldn’t agree more, I generally gravitate towards classes that require more co-ordination to play. I’ve already watched every vid you have. =p

@Curring, I guess I’ll have to make some more then. Guess I could work on gathering footage a bit longer and create something more of a compilation instead of just random footage.

There are times when things just sorta align and you get away / get a kill in a hilarious fashion. Random rallies are also on that list – I remember rallying off an Arborstone guy that I had given up on killing because he got killed by Vizunah. That rally allowed me to get away from the other Vizunah group who had me downed.

That’s awesome! Does mistform work for stomping? I knew it did for rezzing, have to try that out…

Yep, it gives you uninterruptable stomps. Which is pretty sweet, gotta say.

I’ll jump in since I’m in love with my ele (don’t tell my girlfriend).

I decided to sPvP a bit to test out lvl 80 on my ele. I don’t spvp a lot but wanted to get into it a bit. My first match was okay, I was starting to get used to the ele. My 2nd match I capped a point and thought “Hey, I have aoe, I’ll go take out the treb”.

I was fighting 1v2 and going for the treb the whole time while trying to distracted the 2 (a thief and eng). They were doing some work on me but nothing much. Then comes big ol warrior and I thought “dang, I’m screwed”. I survived long enough to take the treb down and continued to dance with them for another 2-3 minutes before they finally took me down. I was running away and had yet to turn off auto-target, so I RTLed back into them lol (fail).

The best part, as I’m smiling and congratulating myself was to see the thief come up and chat and say “ kitten eles”

there is also the aspect of running away. the ele is so kitten slippery.
One encounter i had in wvw.
saw someone running down the road with no sign of bad guys.
started my attack run.
got through churning earth and an enemy thief added.
i got… scared and made a break for it.
only find a whole kitten zerg about 3k range away from me running the opposite direction.
they started to chase me.
they tagged me a few times.
i cleared those conditions when i could.
greenvale to the weather control island…
outran them all.
it would have been much sweeter to turn and attack the stragglers but… too noob to do it.

i once 2v1’ed another ele and a mesmer in spvp and i finished them both without going below 70% HP.
granted, they played as if it were the first game in their lives, but the victory was exhilarating nevertheless.

there’s also how i put 30 points in air as a no-holds-barred total glass cannon just for the heck of it, and dazed thieves randomly appear next to me, ripe for the taking :P

Was pleasantly surprised that dd ele can kite the mobs over the spike traps of AC path 2. Tried it on a thief and failed but dd was pretty good. Mist form ect and tag mobs to get rezzes so obviously it didnt go perfect but we did complete first try. Thanks.
