Cantrip nerf on non-dagger eles
What I’m curious about is this: we know that D/D are among the more powerful specs. Hence nerfs are a more logical step than buffs.
But what about the collateral damage to non-dagger eles? It’s obvious that they were less powerful than D/D, to the point that people struggled to hold their own. Now boon hate builds are introduced. Dagger users can adapt because they rely less on boons for their actual defenses. Staff users however, need the boons to stay alive. The need the cantrips because they have no frost or shocking auras. They have no ability, and much fewer snares.
Have you considered the fact that these changes may actually hurt the weaker ele builds more than the stronger ones?
I’ll give you a simple answer.
No, they didn’t.
Much like the thief revealed change last month, they really don’t know what they’re doing or how it will affect anything beyond the one issue they’re focusing on.
One of the guests commented that the cantrip nerf hurts non-D/D’s more than the OP build. Their answer, “we don’t want to make big changes until we see the change in the meta”.

I l ike that their reasoning is involving the meta, yet they’re going to apply this stuff (and the comical RTL nerf) to non spvp too.
I don’t mind the RTL nerf because after months of watching it (and occasionally abusing it) in WvW…
But I have to agree the other changes are suspect as the non-D/D elementalists already had major survival problems. A staff elementalist is already well behind the 8-ball and has virtually no chance in any kind of one-on-one encounter against an equally skilled, equally-equipped person.
I know when I run into them in WvW, I kill them with impunity. I know when I play mine as staff, others look at me as ‘fresh badges.’

Staff eles don’t “need” auras/boons in order to survive and if you dont realize that staff eles can get frost aura extremely easily then you shouldn’t be trying to give advice or question others. Staff eles also have just as many “snares” as D/D if not more, lol U Trollin Bro? They should leave the bunker builds as they are and just try to rework and buff the other weaponsets/traitlines. I would love to actually be able to use a signet ele with 30 in earth, but right now its nowhere near viable
P.S. GIVE ME DUAL-TORCHES!!!!!!!!!! like a boss :P

Why did they have to nerf Mist Form in PvE? Was healing while in Mist Form really trivializing PvE that much???
