Carrion Bunker Build
Is this the evolution of the prior condition builds you were using a month back and do you notice a tangible difference in WvW?

I am using a full condi build with those traits at the moment for wvw. This hasn’t been tested in wvw, but i can see it working relatively well.

Elementalists in WvW are nice, a lot of aoe that is true, for 1v1? for PvP? compared to other classes?
There are times I can solo 3 people with other classes, that’s godkitten not fair!
The traits are a bit messed up b/c the build editor updated recently. I am assuming you are taking “Soothing Wave” and “Cleansing Wave”
I am guessing you are still rocking perplexity, not divinity (which has no place in a condi build).
A few points: No rock solid with ether renewal? Ether is fine if you want to fight in small groups, but you would be better off running either glyph or signet heal, which are better versus power classes, as diamond skin covers you pretty well vs. condis. In fact, there is a nice synergy between the signet and diamond skin.
Regardless, I’d still take Rock solid as it is the best trait in the earth line.
Serrated stones will do you more good than earth’s embrace (that ICD is unreasonable)
I am guess you take at least some rabid gear to have some crit change to proc renewing stamina.
You might consider taking “cantrip CD reduction” in the water adept, and then taking cleansing fire over water signet. Its about as many condis cleared as the signet, but the burn is significant in your build, and you can control it.
Although not bunker, some of the fire traits might work pretty well. While usually worthless, the 5-point minor in fire will HURT when you build a lot of condi damage.
Finally, Dire gear, or a mix of settler/apothecary with carrion/rabid will bunker better than pure carrion (which is actual dps gear, as it lacks + toughness).

It isn’t meant to be a condi build. I sacrafice almost no extra stats for all that condition damage. And yes i made the build before it updated i guess. I don’t use rock solid and i have 40% crit chance with fury.

Could you perhaps re-link the build with the changes to the build editor ? About half the gear is missing and the traits are all messed up. I figured there was more carrion in the build other than the weapons since you called it a carrion build.
After having looked at your build I ran 0/0/30/20/20 tonight just to get a feel for the traits. Gearwise I’m using Knights chest + leggings and Soldier’s helm, shoulders, gloves, boots with the usual mix of boon duration runes. Jewellery is all celestial with cavalier backpiece. Not the most optimal setup based on your build but it’s what I use regularly.
I play both d/d and staff, was on water field duty for reset tonight so ran staff. I’ve always liked Rock Solid so replaced Strength of Stone. 20/20 arcana and water traits are always personal selections.
I’m going to be totally honest here. I had my doubts about Diamond Skin and Arcane Brilliance since I’m used to ER but after 6 hours of fighting mostly outnumbered it feels pretty kitten robust.
If you’re careful with your positioning and/or timing of your heals being able to stay above 90% was doable. Plus being on waterfield duty meant I was often able to blast the group heals or on occassion selfishly blast my own small waterfield.
For most of the times when I took heavy damage if I was fast enough to react with Armour of Earth and Mist Form I could survive. For the times when I was out of position or heavily focused the only thing that would have saved me was having D/D and our old RTL.
For the most part I’m pretty impressed and look forward to trying the build with my daggers.

I think soldier’s is better for the traits you are running. Easier to keep up diamond skin, easier to survive in general, healed hp has more staying power, and you get more bang for your buck from that 10% toughness converted to condition damage.
Celestial might be even better.

i run 30 30 10
and with the new changes i can’t justify putting 10 from water grandmaster as arcana master.. as tempting as a functional lingering elements is..
Personally I would run 30/20/20 because lingering elements+elemental attunement+cd improvement+longer boon duration is just way too good, even compared to a few more condi cleanses. The condi cleanses are worth even less when you consider you have diamond skin and ether renewal (+ potentially rock solid) to mitigate conditions.

if i was non staff i’d agree with you.. i was jsut thinking out loud
hey guys i just looked at the post. Don’t know why it did that i will have a new link up in a minute
