Celestial Armor
Celestial is still very viable. You actually don’t notice the direct dps drop because of the new strength runes making a celestial ele so much more powerful. Also, you have more condition dmg than before, so your burns hurt more than ever. Those Zerk trinkets will make you rather squishy, though, and they also no longer give disproportionate amounts of crit dmg. It’s your choice, but I strongly recommend you go Celestial.

I agree, I’ve been working on a bit of a quirky build with Celestial. I plugged in some numbers yesterday and it looks really good on paper so far. I’d recommend Celestial as well.
I’m all for celestial personally. It gives your condis and direct damage a bit of oomph and provides a nice buffer of some toughness, vitality and healing power (which as not the greatest player I often need!)
Is it also viable for PvE than a zerker? Im about to create my ascended armor and is on the fence between zerker and celestial
People say PvE is all about the zerker meta, and that you can dodge everything a boss throws at you. I do see the truth in this, but personally (as in my opinion) if i tried to go zerker on my ele (who is pretty squishy with little/no defensive mechanics) i would blow up! I am not able to dodge all attacks, not only due to my fps which is sometimes low, or my latency which is sometimes high, but the fact that I am not the best player. Celestial gives some defensive stats which I like.
That being said, if you are confident in your ability, go for zerker! The increased DPS is worth it.
I know some people go zerker armour with celestial trinkets (or the other way round – I think one was more mathematically viable)… but I’m not too sure.
