My ele is only 55 right now but when i get him to 80 im thinking about going for a mix of rampager/beserker with all celestial trinkets. I’m gunna use staff with 20/20/0/0/30 and boon duration runes . Not being tied to one element i think celestial gear will benefit me a lot since all stats work great on ele. My ele will be used for dungeon running and mayb wvw just for fun. I’m curious what other more experienced eles think of celestial gear. Is this a good idea for my staff build?

I personally have/am in the process of getting all celestials. Eles benefit from just about all of the stats pretty well, and given how expensive (in terms of time) that ascended equipment is, celestials are the most nerf-proof. No matter what build you have, celestials will be useful, even if another trinket might be more ideal. With all of the changes eles are going through/will go through, celestials are the safest route. If you had more aggressive trinkets, the last patch completely slaughtered your build and made your expensive trinkets useless to you.

I like Celestials on the Ele. No matter what you want to do, the Ele can make use of all the stats.

I main Ele and Necro, though I have an alt of each profession at level 80.

Everything I say is only in reference to PvE and WvW.

I personally run celestial trinkets, knights armor and berzerker weapons. Tends to give a nice mix of survivability and damage output.

I agree that celestials will be the most nerf proof, and given the versatility of staff, you really do tend to make use of all the stats. Would be nice if two handed weapons could slot two sigils, but that’s another discussion lol.

You will regret making a staff ele for wvw. You can thank me later if you heed my advice.

There is no “best” weapon set. Especially in PvE. If you run CoF for example offhand dagger or staff are awesome. Mixed with zerker gear and you are good.

For CM you should go focus and take supportive accessories.

It really depends on how you play and what you are doing. Celestial is a really good stat combination for ele because right after engineer we are the best class to profit from it. The thing is that you really don’t need everything in PvE. Condition dmg is useless for eles and the only build to make it somehow work is S/D glyph.

I myself like to go for half zerker/ half celestial because it is more durable than zerker only and it provides more crit dmg i believe.

For the beginning and sPvP i advise you to go for 30 water and a cantrip build. We have awesome AoE dmg but our stats are the worst compared to all the other classes.

thnx for ur replies guys! My main for spvp is necro so im not really gunna play the other classes much in spvp. And if i wvw with ele, i plan to be following a zerg with staff ele. If i want to roam ill switch to my theif :P . I really love staff ele though, switching between the elements for healing, large(radius) aoe damage, utility and combo fields is waaay fun. I know the other weapons have this too but i wasnt as into them.
