Considering how the trait “Inscription” in the major slot for air basically adds the secondary function of Glyph of Elemental Harmony to all glyphs, shouldn’t the number of stacks of might it gives be 3 instead of just 1, since the Glyph of Elemental Harmony does that? The durations for swiftness, protection and regen are the same for the Glyph of Elemental Harmony as for other glyphs with the Inscription trait, meaning that at the moment, using a glyph with inscription in fire is disadvantageous compared to the other attunements. Buffing the trait to give 3 stacks of might would make it far more fair, and maybe even make glyphs viable, as a sort of more flexible “spell slinger/soothing disruption” cantrip, albeit less defensive.

I would like them to add more to the Glyph system. If they want people to move away from Cantrips, then Glyphs/Signets have to offer something that cantrips don’t.

In addition to buffing the might gained from Inscription, using glyphs should instead of giving you regen in Water, they should heal you for a small amount (the same amount they would if you ran the full duration of regeneration).
I think it could do more for specs that have weapon heal skills like Dagger/Focus.

Arcane: 5 Traits that work with them
Signets: 5 Traits that work with them

and Glyphs: 2 Traits

I wonder if someone at Anet noticed that?

“Inscription” needs a buff with the might stacks, that’s true. And “Quick Glyphs” needs to change from 20% to 25%.

I agree with this 100%, even if the duration of might is lower. That 1 stack of might does nothing. It should be at least 3 stacks, or maybe even 6 stacks but only for 8-10s.

I might even argue for slightly MORE protection in earth (and slightly less from elemental attunement, probably 4s, but that belongs in another thread).

They should bump up the Protection to 5 seconds to make it in line with Elemental Attunement, at the very least. Then make it AoE. Then it’d be a decent trait.

Its stupid how pigeonholed to arcana is elementalist cause of the protection boon..
At least you do get some easy weakness with glyphs and air line either with new ligthning rod?! or with fresh air and proccing 5 minor in arcana.
Its even worse when it comes to cleansing and water… Oh you want to play without water??? enjoy almost zero efficient cleansing plus lowest health in game and no sustain. GG… Thats why the new traits will never work..you pretty much either need to go deep in water OR you need fresh air in small scale pvp OR you need maximum range..but lets get real this isnt happening in spvp with thieves/gs mesmer etc.
And then you have kitten like elem attunement and evasive arcana further making any kind of choice seem completely superficial

While it sucks that it’s taken 2 years just to begin to address a balance issue that was obvious and well-communicated in the first month, it’s nice that something has been done.

The big issue has always been that Eles are so reliant on water/arcane traits and cantrips for survivability, and I don’t think even buffed glyphs will offer enough on that front.

I think what’s missing is another decent trait, as inscription is pretty unremarkable.

downed state is bad for PVP
