Q:
Changes to the Ele since launch
There have been some changes. I suggest going to the wiki and looking under “Game Updates”, which can be found at the following link:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Game_updates
Here is the most recent update on the elementalist. Hope this helps.
Elementalist
- Fixed a bug that caused several spells, including Tornado, Arcane Shield, and most frequently Whirlpool, to sometimes fail to display any graphics.
- Arcane Power: The number of uses on this skill’s effect will now decrease if an attack lands or if the attack is negated by Blind, Block, Evade, Obstructed, or Invulnerable.
- Arc Lightning: Fixed a bug which would cause this skill’s animation effects to continue playing after the skill ended.
- Evasive Arcana: This trait no longer enables players to break knockback effects.
- Glyph of Renewal: Increased this skill’s cast time while underwater from 1 second to 3.5 seconds.
- Ice Spikes: This skill now appropriately displays area-of-effect rings.
- Rock Spray: Skill facts for this skill now display the proper distance and bleed damage.
- Vapor Form: This skill will no longer allow players to rally off of kills that grant zero experience. This skill will now also properly restore death state on completion.
D/D has gotten several improvements, which makes it our most polished weapon set at the moment.
Conjures have been slowly getting buffs (they now give stat boosts, weapon’s secondary stats in pve now work with conjures equipped, and conjures from level 80 eles were supposed to be at exotic-level in the last patch but that’s bugged and not working); conjures aren’t still excellent to use at the moment, for pvp at least, but they’re certainly getting more appealing.
The downed state was revamped, and recently nerfed a little bit. We have a good downed state now.
Some important bug fixes were made. A few traits have gotten improvements and they are slightly helping opening up damage-oriented builds.
There has also been a few nerfs, like to evasive arcana and to boon stacking, but all the top classes (heh, even the weaker classes) have been getting nerfed, so it’s moot.
For future updates, they are planning to tone down AoEs across all professions, they are looking at the defensive ele builds in pvp, and they want to buff underpowered options across all professions to open up new builds.
Important changes:
You can now vapor form immediately after being downed.
Vapor form no longer resets health after use.
Ride the Lightning and Magnetic Grasp are no longer self stuns.
We have a fall damage reduction trait.
Evasive Arcana now only has one blast finisher.
Dragon’s Tooth now triggers its blast finisher at the target instead of the caster.
Stability from transforms is now stripped if you leave the transformation state.
There are now fewer inaccurate tooltips.
we may consider whether or not there is an incarnation of [ele] that would be viable
but balanced. For now, we do not expect it to see serious use.” – ANet

Evasive arcana Nerf.
That’s all really
Do not be too eager to deal out death in judgment. Even the very wise can not see all ends
Evasive arcana Nerf.
That’s all really
That thing was strong. Staff was fun back then.
Dragon’s Tooth now triggers its blast finisher at the target instead of the caster.
It still doesn’t actually hit anything though.
