Q:
Classic DnD view on the upcoming Sept Patch
> “grandmaster traits that currently don’t have enough of a payoff or are too difficult to use”
“too difficult to use” or “impractical and poorly designed”? They go on about build diversity when at the same time we are forced into go deep into water and arcana since all of the other GMs are so terrible.
It’s jimmy’s fault, cause you know… He’s in a wheelchair!
Jokes aside, we used fgs 2 years ago, how is it a problem today o.O.

It became a problem when talented PvE people had enough of the boring content and started going into PvP. They brought the FGS with them, and they destroyed Foefire’s Guild Lords in seconds. Anet balances for PvP so they had to balance this.
So the origin of the problem is the content-rid boring PvE

- I dont think they will ever allow dnd eles to move away from the classic build. Such is therefore, my hopes that the GM traits in water and arcana buffed. One can only hope.

- Same thoughts. FGS is used alot of the times as escape, catching or for a staff ele, the chance of a win against a glassy enemy in 1v1 situations. It is sad there are changes that will might affect its usage in wvw.
I’ll be fine with them nerfing the hell out of fgs if it means buffing our weapon skills and base damage. the fact is we’re too reliant on it. You pretty much HAVE to take FGS because mobility is so poor without it as is damage on builds with any kind of survivability. But, this is anet we’re talking about. we won’t get buffs as compensation if they nerf it, they’ll just nerf it and leave it at that then we go back to people not wanting eles and then they come to the forums and ask whats wrong, and we give them tons of idea that they completely ignore and we eventually come up with a new build that gets us back in the meta and they nerf that and the process begins again.

Yes. Anet must conisder really hard before implementing any nerfs.
Why? Because the chance of a re-adjustment upwards following a nerf takes along time.
I wish they would put intended changes for the community to give their thoughts on the matter first before nerfing a class.
I can only hope the changes are not a nerf. FGS nerf should not nerf mobility at the very least. But i fear its easier to change how #4 works by simply adding code that that makes it require a target.
