Guild Wars 2

I have two Questions,

1. Although this Event is my favorite in the game, I have to admit I find the 3rd act of this drama utterly frustrating, while I have tried various combinations of Runes. Superior Runes of Melandru, and or Sv. I just have not found a build that provides a reasonable level of protection against the Chill (degen) coming off the ever present Ice Pillars; if anyone would be willing to share a build that works, it would be most appreciated. My armor set is PVT.

2. Just a more general Ele Question, but it comes up alot here. If a player is down and trying to rise, and its impracticable to kneel and heel; do water spells help them rise at all or are the wasted before the player has Rzed themselves?

1. Not sure about how to survive the degen. I mostly just spam water fields and blast finishers on the group. I go down, but if you’re in a decent group they’ll get you back up quickly (and if you ask everyone else to throw their blast finishers into your water fields, you won’t go down /too/ much).

2. Nope, but it /does/ help anyone trying to res them.

You can cast protection on downed players though.

The ice pillars do not do the degeneration. He does it with his breath, or if you are too close to him when he is unstunned.

There is a sweet spot to stand just beyond the blue ice on the ground across from his head. I’m there all the time, usually with a crowd and there is constant healing. When he’s stunned, run in and cast a meteor shower and lava font, then run out.

just ferry the golems with S/F blocking projectiles and knocking down or stunning foes. Giving prot/regen/swiftness to golem and do all that with 1400 healing power. Or go staff-glass cannon with cantrips that provide regen and the water grandmaster trait that lets you remove a condition when applying regen to yourself or allies.
