Hey I have been playing around with condi Tempest a bit the last 2 weeks, and Im getting some intresting numbers.

On small taget im hiting around 27-28 k DPS on both dagger/warhorn and scepter/warhorn

On large its around 31-32k DPS.

Im not using sylvarian (root) and I dont have buff from enginer so might be able to get higher numbers.

I have also tested this in raids and been top dps on several bosses.

Im runing the build from metabattle http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Tempest_-_Viper_Tempest
This build works on burn and bleed.

But I got some intresting comments on that full burn ele is better. I havent seen any builds on this or videos or dps proof. Has anyone tested out Sinister burn ele and checked the dps?

I am a fan of vipper scepter ele. But i didn´t count numbers. Also i don´t optimize for PvE i use alround builds so i mixed in celestial, rabid pieces and a wanderer amulet .. Weapons and all three larger armor pieces are viper in my build.
For full DPS yes i would use sinister instead of cele and rabid but i run it in WvW so some armor is useful….

how do you play condi ele ? which weapon and amulets ? i tried sc/focus with sage amulet but probably i did something wrong… my condi chronomancer seemed to me much stronger than condi ele … but perhaps i did something wrong

like the build :-). But won´t use the same rune. Without shouts scavenging is good. Also sunless. I like forge too. And classic soldiers but with shouts is what i play most of the time.

Signet , it seems strong . Why not take fire instead of water for having aura on signet also ?
oops i think that trait does not exist now …

Full burn condi ele I saw was able to pull off 34-35k DPS

Video I found earlier today:
https://youtu.be/aUDf_MsRZto

Edit: It’s a recording back from October so I don’t know if there have been any major changes to throw that build off. I’ll see if I can find the video, but an old guildie of mine was experimenting with burn/bleed builds and was able to pull off more consistent damage (still around 34k) since the Burn build has a bit of proc RNG to it.

Here’s a new one from WorldOfEnders with similar numbers.

I managed to get the Fire/Earth build to average 34k-35k, and I got the occasional test to push 36k. I did have Pinpoint on, but I didn’t have Malign infusions. (I can parse through my footage and upload it if anyone is interested)

The one big hiccup is any variant though is that all condi builds seem to make use of Glyph of Elemental Power which means you can only realistically have one condi ele in the group unless the target cooldown has been reworked and wiki hasn’t update that. Other than that, landing whirls on fire fields is also another potential hiccup, but its no more difficult than whirling Necro ice fields I found.
