Condi removal
Diamond Skin, Ether Renewal, Signet of Water, Cleansing Fire and the Trait. Not sure about any others
grr its so hard not to go 30 for water when you play staff
If you run dagger off hand you can use Cleansing wave (water 5) or if you have the trait Evasive Arcana you can just dodge roll while in water.
In my opinion, we have the best personal condi-removal and healing skill out of all the classes: Ether Renewal.
The sheer amount of of conditions removed from this skill is heads and shoulders beyond Cleansing Fire (1 condition per pulse, 8 pulses total for Ether Renewal compared to 3 from Cleansing Fire).
Sure, we might not get the full benefit if interrupted, but I think the benefits outweigh the cost of 3.5 seconds of time.
Ether Renewal is easily interrupted. Assuming that you don’t have Armour of Earth or maybe Arcane Shield ready to use. Though the cool down being reasonable does counter that a little bit. Though that gets interrupted and that puts you in a VERY tough spot.
Well, either you are doing into water or take ERenewal with something to cover it (rock solid, earth armor, etc). No other choices.
If by “water” you mean attunement then you can also try to trait cantrips, it will give you minor cleanse at will that helps again non-condition classes (warrior’s pin down, power necro fear etc)
Focus earth no. 4, scepter fire no. 3, dagger off-hand no. 5, Staff no. 5, ether renewal, Diamond Skin, cleansing fire skill and cleansing fire trait in fire. Sigils and runes can help too.
I’ve been using focus off-hand lately due to the large amount of people playing heavy condi builds. Works really well due to earth n° 4 cleanse (3 condis) and n° 5 which grants invulnerability for 3 sec. N° 5 allows you to put really heavy pressure with no consequence at all, trigger your rotation and heal (If using healing signet)
I also run cleansing fire when against condi necros and engis.

The counter to that being the fact that you have VERY little chance of escaping should things go south. While Earth 4 and 5 are good, all be it with 5 having a little too long of a cool down (imo) the rest of the skills are meh and the loss of heals (using D/F) as well as mobility (Vs D/D) doesn’t quite make up for it in my opinion.

What you loose in heals (off-hand dagger n° 5) you gain in defense. Earth skills mentioned above (forgot to mention that magnetic wave will not only cleanse 3 condis but will also reflect projectils), swirling winds will destroy all incoming projectiles (extremely useful against condi thieves and engis), you still got 2 ways to interrupt skills (air n°5 and water n° 5) and you can get to 25 stacks of might without even trying with fire shield.
