Is there a good Condition Elementalist build out there? I know people think of Mesmers and Necromancers for Condition Damage but I thought our combination of Burn and Bleed would be strong. Here is what I fiddled with, I would gladly take suggestions.

I’m no expert when it comes to condition damage builds, tried a few but moved on, however below is how I’d change the build you linked, basically some trait adjustment, a change on the amulet jewel, swapped out runes to maximise bleed and burning duration and a switch in the utilities to improve your toughness while maintaining passive signet abilities.

Explain to me how you plan on keeping enough bleeds on enough targets to make sacrificing front load damage for damage over time. Please consider the average condition cure rate by the average player too.

He didn’t specify pvp or pve. I’ll be the first to agree that condition specs aren’t great in pvp but they do have a use in pve. Not my thing though.

Fair enough. I always have a hard time considering PvE in a game designed for PvP. Heh

It’s pretty clear they’ve spent just as much if not more time on the PvE in this game.

I know what you mean, mostly a wvw’er myself!

I had a week long “debate” with a new guild mate who kept insisting on a condition build for staff. Try as I might to talk some sense into him he finally admit after having spent maybe 40G on gear that I was right all along…

I’ve been wondering if there’s a valid condition build for Elementalist, too. Last night I tried increasing my condition duration to 97% – it’s kinda neat, especially for things like Frozen Ground, but I believe the scepter is better at stacking damaging conditions than the staff.

I’m also not sure that all 97% of the condition duration bonuses stacked correctly. Requires more testing.

Condition builds on staff are actually quite good because they tie into some of the ele’s most survivable traitlines/stats to boot. It’s a different approach but it’s definitely possible. Eles make up for the lack of condition variety with frequency of application (when played properly) and can beat up condition mesmers and necros remarkably well.
