Condition vs Critical
Condition would be a no. btw, Power is part of the crit/precision equations for damage and shouldn’t be ignored. That’s not to say some condition for Pve is not useful because it is. It bypasses armor and many npcs take a while to take down, but condition is capped and is not our main damage from our skills. Burns stack for duration only and bleeds cap at 25. In a group those are often maxed. In PvP, conditions can be removed and we have some significant cooldowns on some of them.
Our skills however have alot of burst damage and can be substantial.
I would remind you not to ignore chill as a condition. While it doesn’t do direct damage, is can slow opponents and their recharge rates considerably.
chill isn’t affected by condition damage though I condition duration with it is very nice.
Also the condition removal argument in pvp doesn’t really stand, direct damage can be “removed” with weakness/protection/chill/roots/blocks etc.
crit/precision is better for D/D. Definately! If you had different weapons then I wouldn’t be so sure but for D/D its no question.
I personally spec for power/survivability, but mix it up with +condition duration (giver’s daggers and 2 mad king runes) to increase time crippled and frozen, and indirectly improving my condition damage (though more ticks). While the extra damage is nice, I really like the extra control more than anything, trying to slow down my opponents and scatter the field a bit.
Celestial is the way to go.
