I got bored with my old build so I decided to try making a conjuration build. Much to my surprise I found we only have 1 trait (Conjurer – Adept Fire) associated with conjured weapons yet we have 5 conjured weapon skills. Does anyone know why there’s only 1 trait for it?

Also, does anyone have any good builds for conjured weapons?

Conjured weapons suck hard outside of PVE dungeons.

downed state is bad for PVP

Eles have at least another conjure trait, Piercing Shards. This increases damage by 20% on foes with vulnerability on them. Almost its only purpose is to increase conjure damage on bosses.

The Goderators have ruined this forum for me.

I don’t care if it sucks hard. I’m doing this for a change of pace and to have some fun.

And that’s exactly what you should do, because that’s how new builds are found and maybe some day even get known and used by others. That doesn’t happen simply by copy pasting some existent “meta” builds.

I remember the time when (nearly) everyone said “You can’t play D/D, that’s not viable – close range on a mage? Are you serious?” – that was before daphoenix wrote his guides and everyone startet using D/D or even rolling an ele just to play said build – at least until it got nerfed…

Experimenting is always a good thing to do – so just have fun trying out things!

Regarding the Conjures Trait. I personally don’t use it because I only use the Ice Bow and FGS. In case of Ice Bow there are just some skills you want to use until you throw it away (you would waste lots of dps by waiting for the Ice Bow skills to come off CD while locking you out of all your weapon skills). So in this case 15 charges are more than enough. I also don’t really remember needing extra charges on FGS (if it wasn’t for the despawn timer I could imagine needing them though).

It’s a different story with the Lightning Hammer and the Lava Axe/Conjured Flame. Especially in dungeon runs when excessively using those you might need the Trait.

Unfortunately there really are no Traits besides “Conjurer” who directly affect Conjured Weapons. But as already mentioned you can indirectly support them with Traits like Piercing Shards. Ice Bow 2 stacks some vulnerability, so you have a 20% dmg increase on top of the vulnerability (given you stay in water attunement) – even when you are soloing… In a group it’s unlikely a boss or anything won’t have vulnerability on it, so it’s a very good trait to pick. Same goes for every Trait with something like “deal x more dmg while y”. You just need to take care to fulfill the y condition (like being attuned to a certain element, having enough HP, being in the right range, …) while using your Conjure.

The fun fact about conjured weapons is that the attunement bonuses are still up and you can still change attunements for various bonuses while the weapon skills remain those of the conjured weapon. Many traits are worded as such that they apply their bonus while you are in certain attunements, and they do not effect the weapon skills of the given attunement themselves.

So basicly while you use a Lightning Hammer in Fire, with the trait that increases damage by 10% in fire attunement, you get +10% damage to the LH skills as long as you stay in Fire. If you have the trait that gives might on using fire spells though, you dont get squat even if its Fiery Greatsword you are using in Fire attunement.

As for the Conjurer trait, i find it a bit counterproductive. If you build specificly to have more than one conjured weapons, you end up with way more skills available to you than any other class in the game (basic 4 attunements + conjure*5, more than the engineer even). When you have this many skills, you want to cycle through them for best effect, not stick around in only one of them for the most of the fights. This means you pick up a conjure, use a few skills/charges, drop or conjure something else, pick up the second weapons you conjured on the ground, drop again, use a basic attunement skill or two as it comes… Point is, if you play for maximum effectiveness with the massive amounts of skills at your disposal, you wont stick to a conjured weapon for long enough to use the standard 15 charges, let alone the traited 25 charges.

Using Pyromancer’s Puissance and being in fire attunement while holding any conjured weapon will give you might. I find that using lava axe for a double-might auto is pretty fun. (Combo that with runes of strength for some nice damage) So going 6 points into fire for II, VI, and XII could help you with a conjure build.

It’s also nice to note that your sigils on your weapon will still work despite you using a conjured weapon.
