Ilario Ciarenni – Mesmerizing Human Mesmer

So yeah, I’ve gone the way of the elementalist about 15 times already … and ended up deleting the chars ( partially because of cosmetic choices, animations, … but also because I was bored playing ).
I know the classes only come into full throttle later on, but I never managed to stick with it.
Ok, so that’s for the backstory. Yes, it is relevant to my question. I just want to point out that I have zero experience with conjured weapons because I never got high level enough to get the hammer and the GS ( other than yoinking them in dungeons from the ele in the group ).
Build: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fEQQFAWhMmYbyRAxjDAhHKMABDFhsRRxN4A;TwAZUCokQpiSBFlOGdE6Y1xpjUnBFA
So this is what I have in mind. I have no idea if this will be any good or not ( or if a conjured weapons based build is even viable at all ). All I see is that my healthpool will be very low, though there are some escape things ( cantrips, blind from hammer, etc … )
Bottomline: I want to do damage, but I also want to survive when an anemic fly sneezes on me.
Can this be done?

Bad Link.
But you can make a conjured hammer wielding Elementalist whilst attuned to Water, and play the role of a tanky elementalist thats largely due to high health regen if traited correctly. Yes so you cna tank multiple mobs, even veterans and still output large amounts of damage due to the hammers natural high damage ouput. But it offers little variety and everything is all melee, might as well play warrior. And yes you MUST be in water attunement.
Also you need to increase the conjured charges and make sure nobody goes around stealing your conjured weapons because youll need both to keep permanent uptime.
The GS isnt really necessary due to its high cooldown but if thats the type of build you were going for, its possible (once again, broken link).
I put the complete link in the post now. Still doesn’t work when clicking, so copypasta is needed.
As far as the response goes: water attunement eh? Well, that kinda ruins my day. Some thinking is in order then.
Are you looking for a 100% conjure build where you only use conjured weapon abilities?
Although I only do spvp I think I have some decent ideas on conjure builds. The build would depend on how intent you are on incorporating the conjured weapon though.
On a side note this thread got me thinking about how much you could crit with a lightning hammer, 5699 was the best I could do.

The idea is to make a build where I would use the hammer and greatsword along with staff (because 100% uptime on conjured weapons can be situation specific).
Here’s a new build, where I took into account the fact that water attunement is needed:

Again, copypasta if bad link.
I like the signet of fijah as it gives a flat 10% increased crit chance. The build I just posted looks ok to me ( a newbie when it comes to ele ), BUT … I have no idea on the stats I need to focus on.
So yeah, if one of you gurus says the build is valid, could you then specify what my stat priority should be?

It doesn’t
The passive gets worse the higher your level is. At 80 it gives you 4%.
The active burn is awesome though
I actually just don’t know enough about pve to contribute to this. I don’t think water would be necessary though. I would get the elemental attunement arcana trait so that I could swap attunements with my conjured weapon out for the boons.
Imho try and get your power to 3k (80).
i have had some success with signet/aura builds and the damage output is pretty nice.
try to use the conjure from water. combine it with the +20% from vulnerability if you can. Then you get regen and combat power.
i prefer runes of the forge as the protection kicks in at 50% HP’s rather than 20. ele can pretty easily get hit in one shot for more than 20% of their HP’s.
Im not currently a big fan of lightning hammer. Flame ax works just fine for me… however there are those that swear by the hammer.
this is just an example of an aura/signet conjure build.

also… go to the mists and try out stuff.

Ah snap … oh well, maybe another cantrip instead, or keep it for the burn. We’ll see how that plays out.
Thanks for the feedback so far, I’m looking forward to getting somewhere with my ele
The Lightning Hammer and Ice Bow are pretty much the best conjured weapons out there. Spammable blast finishers + heavy AoE damage on the hammer, plus the Ice Bow’s AoE just wrecks environmental objects. I have one or the other on my bar at all times, regardless of my group composition.
They work decently as “fifth Attunements”, so to speak. With the Hammer you can just spam, but with the Ice Bow I’m usually conjuring it, blowing its best abilities (3, 4, 5) and dropping it to continue damaging. A conjure-only build could be somewhat effective, but locking yourself out of 20 other skills … not worth it in the long run.
Another thing to consider is that most non-Elementalists have no idea how conjures work, so you’ll have group members that pick up your second Ice Bow and spam autoattack until it’s gone, completely killing their usefulness for the duration unless you give them pointers. That, or they ignore it entirely – which is usually a good thing, since it means more damage for you.
Hammer’s auto-attack is actually worth it. You waste 3 charges, but you can keep the foe blinded for long. Meanwhile, although I think the Bow is strong, its auto-attack is a waste of charges that you’re forced to do if everything else is recharging.
Conjured weapons are pretty close to being viable weapons as a mainstay (while using your actual weapon skills as supplements) and pretty close to being good supplements to your main skills. But they still lack some important things.
I have a thread created where I go in depth on what they need, IMO, to be fully viable and competitive vs other utility skills. I also take into mind condition damage for you condition damage users.
I apologize for the length of the thread but here is the link:
