What if Conjures worked like the bugged Glyph of Elemental Power? There will only be one utility slot for all conjures and you can summon them based on your current attunement and they have different internal cool downs.

OP? Some may argue. Fun? Definitely. 10/10 would use it.

too much for one slot,

invulnerability and daze from earth shield,
icebow stun and aoe combo,
fireaxe firefields and blast finishers and evade,
and lightning hammers AOE stun field and knockback,

all of that on one button would be a little bit OP
(especially on a class with access to 30 skills) :P

Technically speaking, I agree that it would be OP to have access to all those skills. But realistically speaking from a PvP standpoint wherein non support Eles/Tempest are barely viable (if not totally not viable), this brings a lot to the table.

Sure, Eles will have access to many additional skills but with the current lack of any good amulets that will allow them to survive as a non-bunker build, I can’t see them being able to actually use all those skills against decent type of players. It’s not like people will allow you to use all of them so it becomes highly situational and I think there will only be a couple of conjure skills that will actually be used (All skills in Earth shield are good, LH 4 and 5, Deep Freeze).

Topic aside, I’d love to see buffs to Earth Shield especially the Conjure Cooldown. It’s one of the best utility skills out there that non-bunker tempests can use so people should try using it more

All that they need to do for conjures is:

  1. Remove the cast time: all the skills already have cast-times that are balanced around the strength of the skills
  2. Reduce the CD and duration to 30 seconds: eles are built around cycling through skills, and only lightning hammer and FGS can justify using the auto-attacks, so they usually get used for their additional utility (a few select skills) then dropped. This would allow them to be used more regularly for the proper utility.
  3. Make earth shield a stunbreak: this is a defensive utility, but can’t be used as a stunbreak, meaning it is extremely hard to justify as a spot on your utility bar.

I’d advocate a small nerf on the “support” part of conjure skills by not summoning an extra conjure weapon that you need to ground target and add a drop conjure weapon when a conjure weapon is used.

Conjure weapon : Equip a magic weapon that last 30s regardless of attunment. (cast time and CD are fine actually)
Drop weapon : Leave behind you a conjured weapon, last 30 second on the ground (this conjured weapon have the “charge” system)

Trait conjurer : also grant fire aura to the caster when you initially conjure the weapon.

It would not be a big change and obviously it would feel like a nerf but I think that it would answer most of the QoL issues attached to conjured weapons. By getting rid of the ground targeted thingy, the skill become a lot easier to use.

No core profession should be balanced around an optional elite specialization.

Seriously, though. I’d be okay with this, but I’d still massively prefer a proper kit functionality. The skills are already limited by cast times and cds. Even a 30 second cooldown seems too long for what they currently offer.

Making them instant in one way or another should definitely be top priority, though. If Anet are so dead set on “speeding up the game” (\sigh), they need to at least take the time to make sure everyone can keep up.

I think the major problem with Conjures right now is that they are too good to have available at all times (like Kits), and too weak to be on a 60s cd. We need to be able to access the Conjured skills multiple times throughout the 60s period.

A few (mutually exclusive) ideas for Conjures:

1. Halve cooldown and duration of Conjures. Remove ground conjure.

2. Treat them like Mantras. Upon casting the Conjure we gain 2 activation charges which will equip it. Throughout the 60s duration period we can activate these 2 charges at any time. Conjurer changed to +1 activation.

3. Change Conjurer to -20% Conjure cooldown, -20% Conjure weapon skill cooldown. Baseline charges brought up to 20 and removed from Conjurer. (This would benefit FGS more than any other Conjure. Cooldowns of utility Conjures may need to be adjusted on an individual basis).

4. Allow repeated entry into the Conjure throughout the 60s period with a 10s cooldown to re-enter upon leaving. (Like an attunement).

5. Reduce cooldown of Conjures by 1s per charge remaining when Conjure is dropped. (A bit of a silly idea but it adds some some value to Conjurer too).
