A long time ago, when the game was young, I was told that for a D/D ele corruption stacks were actually superior to Bloodlust stacks. That the damage scaling was better off of corruption than bloodlust since almost all of the ele’s abilities also caused damaging condis that would benefit from Condition damage.

Is this still true? Was this ever true?

How about for Scepter/Dagger? What do you elementalists use?

From what I can tell, people use bloodlust over corruption regardless of builds due to well, condition stacks in any sort of team play (even if just two people) potentially being erased by each other (an enemy can only have up to 25 stacks inflicted on it, any surplus wipes the oldest one out of the queue, regardless of who put it on the enemy). So, people would rather up personal damage so they would do better damage. Bloodlust works better when attacking objects too.

Condition Damage on Elementalist is terrible.

Sigils of Bloodlust and Perception are far superior choices.

Not true. The conditions with the greatest intensity are used. Also, if factors which change the intensity occur during the condition, such as increase or decrease in might, the order is rearranged.

On my Signet-Aura-Condimentalist (20, 10, 30, 0, 10) I decided to go with Bloodlust because I figured that more Power would provide better returns since my Condition Damage is pretty high to begin with. I have not done the math (nor do I really care to, someone who enjoys that sort of thing can do it) though, so I may be mistaken. I may try swapping out for a while to see which kills stuff faster.

Bloodlust. If you run high power (including might stacks) and crit damage , perception should also be considered.

The lack of confusion, poison and torment pretty much kills condi elementalist.

I’d probably go for healing stacks before i went for condi dmg stacks on an Ele. +power or +precision are generally the better choices.

I usually think of burning/bleeding more as cover condis for more important control condis like chill/immob/cripple rather than as a significant source of damage.

downed state is bad for PVP
