Once again I need advice from more competent elementalists than me. Running staff, mostly PvE and some WvW zerging. I run mostly solo.

1. Pyromancer’s Puissance vs. Persisting Flames. Common wisdom is to take Persisting Flames, but why? Seeing as how staff spends a lot of time in Fire attunement, isn’t it easier to improve damage by building might stacks?

2. I seem to be “doing it wrong” when it comes to rotation in prolonged fights. My normal sequence is:

Starting in Earth, Eruption -> Fire -> Lava Font (in Eruption) -> Arcane Wave -> Meteor Shower -> Fireball… and then what? Unless I take Pyromancer’s Puissance (against general wisdom), my might stacks expire, I have to go back to Earth to start over, but now Fire is on cooldown! Which results in a rather pronounced DPS dip until Fire is up again. Should I just stay in Fire and cycle through skills and not worry about regaining might?

3. What are my best choices for Ascended rings, trinkets and necklace and infusions for those? I feel a bit thin HP-wise, so I wouldn’t mind a little more Vitality, but not so much so it starts to affect my overall performance.

How am I gonna be an optimist about this?

1. you wont stay in fire long enough to build sufficient might stacks.
2. many do air fire water earth. rotation is pretty flexible with staff. Builds that utlize condition damage and power work better in small scale fights because earth 2 gives good bleed damage. Large scale wvw fights its better to utlize power a bit more.
3. its really up to you. i like to shoot for 1600 toughness and 15k+ vitality. Other people are comfortable going full zerker. Do research and find stats that fit you best.
