am i supposed to be swapping elements in battle even though im specced air (lvl 15) i find myself with all my skills on cooldown so i swap to a new element and use those etc. until i reach back to air. is that how i’m meant to play them or am i a little confused?

You definitely should be swapping. Not to mention 5 points into any spec is barely anything to justify spending all your time in that attunement. Ele’s in general have to swap at least 2-3 stances in any rotation and staff ele’s utilize all 4.

edit to add a bit more – in general, your main damage attunements are fire/air, water for healing, and earth for survivability/crowd control.

Just swap to what you need, don´t swap because something is off cooldown.

You need more damage? swap to attunement where you can start a burdt combo. Need to survive, swap to mobility and cc spells providing attunements. etc.

Never swap to something without knowing what you´re going to use from that attunement.

I swap all the kitten time.. it’s so ridiculously fun if you get the hang of it.

Same here, swapping is the way to go.

Honestly I wish I started swapping sooner. Heck, I wish I understood Might stacking sooner. Swapping and field/finisher combos are so hella fun and very effective.

No problem at all.

I generally use staff.

Air is great for running. I’ll usually run in, static field, and then switch to fire for damage. The air auto-attack seems pretty strong if you can continuously hit 3 targets with it, but otherwise I like fire. Sometimes I rotate through everything just to get a bunch of combo fields cooldowns for everyone else.
