D/D Elementalist level 50 what to buy

If you think you’re good, go full berzerker. If not, go either Soldier or Cleric. I’m not joking about Cleric, I used that to pve straight from level 1 to 80. After you have the Arcana trait line and Signet of Restorations, you’re basically unkillable by the pve mobs, even when your gear is green and 10 levels behind. It’s the economic choice. Upgrade to the next green gear every 10 levels.

The biggest mitigation tactics are going to be learning your dodges and being able to setup up against fights (weapons, any traits that you have, slotting the appropriate skills, etc). In PvE, I’d argue that learning technique surpasses your gear selection. In other words, even if you deck out in defensive gear you’ll just end up prolonging your death if you don’t invest in learning technique. Though I fully understand as a new playing you’re nowhere near ready to “yolo” quite yet by taking on hoards of mobs by yourself.
Ideally in the PvE aspect of the game you’ll want to aim for Gear that offers Power, precision, and ferocity in that order. At your level I believe gear offers only two stats atm. If you feel that you are needing some defensive stats for learning the ropes I’d advise going with the stat combination of Toughness, Power, Precision. The extreme defensive gear set would be Power, Toughness, Vitality. You’ll want to do a gear check about every 5 levels. The way scaling works in maps could be detrimental if you are not keeping current.
D/D is great for levelling and general open world as it has good mobility; however, should you decide to move further into PvE such as Dungeons and Fractals you’ll want to learn to play with the other three weapons as well.

All of those armor parts are for level 60+ and I’m only 50 :\

Just ignore the cleric/soldier advice. It’s hilariously bad.
Go full berserker so you can kill stuff. Yes, you may never die in clerics but you will take forever to kill anything and even longer to level up. You will also never learn to dodge anything since you can facetank it.

I’m level 55 now, and I used Cleric equipments … well bought armor and daggers with power and vitality.
You said that with cleric I could facetank it, but with berserker I couldn’t tank as much.
Well I just tried to kill some level 62 mobs and they make 5k dmg on me (I have 10k hp).
So they kill me very easy even if I have tanky gear on me.
I’m wondering how could I ever survive with berserker items if even if tanky gear I can be 2 hited by mob :O

Problem A is definitely that you are taking on tougher enemies than what you’re ready for.
The other issue I think is more of a mentality bit. In typical MMO’s you tank up to soak the hits and use recovery skills to get you back on par. In GW2 that sort of mentality will get you killed pretty quick (especially on a squishy Ele). The best form of defense is a pro-active one which is especially important for you to learn as you are using a weapon set that requires you to be up close.
Though you kinda got a preview into why players tend to invest in offensive gear. As you described the mob you were fighting can take you out in two hits. With more offensive gear the mob would have taken you out in one.
So, how do you survive? Be proactive, anticipate the attacks rather than react after the fact. Dodge, evade, blinks, blocks, invulnerabilities, all those tactics offer mitigation to make sure the attacks against you don’t connect. For now dodging is going to be the biggest lifesaver (literally) while the other tacts you’ll learn to appropriately use as you get more practice with the class.
I realized that this game require a lot more skills than my previous MMO
I’m playing GW2 for like 10 days now and I made to level 56 already, so I guess I’m doing fine for beginner, but will need to learn how to avoid and evade attack from mobs for sure
thanks a lot for your help

The game does not seem to encourage you to fight mobs that are higher level than you.
Try going for areas that are equal or lower level than yours.
Gear wise, power is kinda necessary. Other stats can be chosen by your own preference.
Full DPS build is always the best way to level. Berserker plus damage traits.
I wouldn’t suggest full berserker to someone who is new in GW2 and play ele… but a mix of berserker and soldier could be ok, depends how often you die
Sigil of bloodlust and sigil of speed for doing heart and exploration.

Sunshine is right, at level 60 you will get access to cleric armor, add major rune (you will get four bonuses instead of 5) of strength , plus signet of restoration and you will be fine. if in group and they are in trouble, you can function as a healer. also, practice on dodging, use your arcane skills because you will have low crit but high power for high dps. Mind you, I’m using stuff and sometimes scepter. I’m lev 67 now and having fun. as of traits got earth embrace (defense) and burning fire (auto 3 condi removal) then two on arcane.
in my lev 50s I got full berserk plus emerald acccesories, rings, and amulet. emerald will give you power, toughness, and vitality. practice dodging and use your defense because from lev 50s and up mobs will get tougher and they use a lot of condi (toughness is worthless and vitality will save you while recuperating). again at lev 39 you will have access to major runes, use them, it helps.
so far I love the cleric armor with major runes that give power, toughness, and healing ( this will help you survive especially when the mobs gang up on you which they do a lot lev 50 and higher). hope this helps, have fun.
The sub-80 open world is easy enough that you should be able to just kill stuff at your level in full damage gear and traits. There’s really no reason to bunker up in leveling open world PvE content at all.

It’s actually not as easy as you think for a lot of people. Ele is one of the hardest classes to level in pve from scratch for new players.

Going to echo people talking about relative levels. If something is more than 3 levels above you, go somewhere else, generally. The scale is brutal in most cases.
There are several zones for each level range.
Well guys I bought Berserk gear and I’m almost level 80.
It went kinda fast, since I was playing more than 10 hours per day. Also events and quest give tons of experience.
Anyway, I’m going to buy full Berserk gear at level 80 again, I had some troubles learning to avoid but I’m getting better every day.
I will have to learn about traits, because right now I have some random crap set xD
