Replace signet of fire with Glyph of Elemental Power: No cast time, more burns (even outside fire) and is a stun breaker.
This look similar to a prototype I’ve been working on. But it was put to the side in favor of marauder tempest.

Hello, Sorry for coming up with so many builds but I keep seeing lots of people complaining about tempest being a boring class to play … I think the boredom problem comes when you limit yourself to that some call meta builds.
Tempest (and all specializations) being so young means not everything is being said, there’s a lot of room for experimentation and the constant usage of premade builds won’t help the meta to avoid getting stuck in a local max … only diversity can help us from that problem…
That being said here is a tempest build that features a very active play style … Rolls (Dodge).What is the idea? Dodging
In this build when you dodge, you also apply aoe blindness (while on fire/air) for extra evasion, and get a guaranteed critical for an extra blind+burn. Add the fact that both build vigor making multiple dodges possible if spaced right when combining with blinds. When in a pinch switch to water attunement for roll healing + condition renewal, remember all your auras grant regeneration and vigor, and if shut your opponent gets weakness.Playing this build is fun! just dodge everything you see that hurts while stacking burning to your enemy in the process, your opponent will very likely run out of rotations faster than you will or be forced to relieve some burning just for you to apply it later for free.
Where do we exactly get the blind on dodge?

I think superior rune of evasion would fit the theme of the build better.
Looks too glassy for the current meta, random AoE stuff on a point will easily bring you down. Lack of stab (we will always lack stab though). Not enough condi cleanse as well. I’m not sure how useful how blinds will be given that the meta is dropping multi-hit AoE attacks on a point.
Yes the meta build gets boring but that’s not because players don’t try anything else. I myself have been playing ele from the start of the game, and really tried my hardest to play stuff like condition ele or other fun specs in pvp… but it’s just not viable.
Ele is simply extremely lacking as a base class without traits. So ALL the defense has to be shoved into traits which leads to the old arcane+water sustain build, or the “new” aura build which of course is just the old signet aura build with the boons from cantrips added.
If u take the classic df cele aurshare from metabattle u can make it work into a marauder amu version, whereas u could go with scepter instead. Swap out water for fresh air, make overall adjustments more egocentric while u still have sustain durations from the 5 buffed shouts.
Edit: only downside with it is that the classic cele df aurashare provides more onpoint to the team, often resulting in a node win vs competent teams, making that build superior in terms of team synergy.

Great advice, will try it tonight and see if it’s really as bad as you guys think… tried it already on 1v1 with a friend and works pretty well… on a team… it’s to be seen.

It’s possible to beat a condi reaper on viper tempest. It’s mentally draining, but I once had a duel against a Reaper where the only thing that hit me was his Rune of Nightmare.

I’m in great doubt of the skill level of that condi reaper that you beat with just 1 condi cleanse every 10s…
