D/D Levelling
What’s not to get? D/D has always been easiest to level/farm with due to massive amounts of untargeted fast cleave and AoE. Staff is mainly a support weapon and scepter is mostly single target with little fast cleaving.

Huh? You don’t get it? If you’re saying “D/D seems to be the Ele’s best weapon set overall”, the answer is yes, it is. As weird as it is that Staff and Scepter aren’t the best sets for a spellcaster, the truth is that, when one takes the entire game as a whole, D/D does seem to just be the best combination of them all, because it is highly mobile, has self-heals, does great AoE damage, and a bit of CC as well.
Was just surprised being double daggers I imagined bursty kind of game play but I actually take less damage and amazing mobility….
Scepter Eles are the bursty ones. Staff Eles are best as WvW Zerg support. Daggers are for playing an all-around mobile moderate DPS character with a lot of random support abilities thrown in as well.
My biggest piece of advice is putting points in Arcana as you level, then putting 15 points in Water when you can, taking Cleansing Wave as your Major Adept trait. Look at my guide and the Auramancer for what I usually suggest for leveling.
S/D can “cleave” just as well as D/D provided you get your mobs stacked nice and tight. D/D has more mobility+survivability ofc.
Currently I am using S/D (might stacking rules) for pve/dungeons, D/D for spvp/tpvp and Staff for WvWvW.
TLDR: I use all my weapon skills!!! (Except you focus, im sorry )
