Hello fellow elememtalists! seven here. With all the interest in D/D elementalist lately thanks to the recent videos by conleav and elem, I figured I would once again try sharing my setup, I tried a few months ago and was met with responses like “d/d is dead” and “you need to post a video” among other various things. I actually updated my GPU a couple of days ago and can finally record, so this time a video will be included.
I’ve run D/D ele and D/D ele only for the past 3years now, I absolutely love the play style and simply can’t give it up. no matter how the meta has shifted I’ve always managed to find a way to make it work for me. When hot come around I spent over 4K gold trying different gear setups, it all felt pretty hopeless for a long while, but we eventually got there in the end! So, to the build!

There’s really not that much to say about the builds traits, it’s just the usual 2015 d/d elementalist setup that were all to familiar with, you can swap burning precision for burning fire if you find your running into a lot of condition builds but other then that it’s all gravy.
Another Option is to swap fire line for tempest, its a lot stronger in outnumbered fights thanks to the extra heals, cleanse and aoe damage you have access to. I personally prefer core ele’s playstyle and I find overall fire line still takes the edge in 1v1’s simply due to the unpredictable nature and higher burst+burn damage. It all comes down to personal preference at the end of the day tho.
Now to the gear, again there isn’t much to say about this, this is the absolute best balance between damage and survival that I have found. The tankiness comes from the abuse of broken items such as durability runes and gnashblade food, which in turn allows us to build for a more offensive stat spread so we can dish out some very reasonable damage, unfortunately until Dagger offhand gets some much needed quality of life updates we have to abuse such things for us to remain competitive.
