D/D skills missing vs trebuchet & doors
I’m not sure about trebs specifically since I haven’t played much PvP, but on PvE structures of all sizes, fire 2, water 2, and air 1 and 2 are extremely hard to hit with. Don’t know if it’s a bug or intended.
Even though, I still think we’re one of the best classes for taking down structures, due to skills like fire 3 (as long as you don’t overshoot) and FBow 4, and the tons of PBAoE we have on D/D. And the tons of targetted AoE staff ele’s have (meteor storm chunks trebs and has insane range

My experience is that Air #1 will hit, but it requires 1-2 ‘swings’ before it’s calibrated and actually starts hitting. Basically, if you stay stationary it will start hitting (and not miss) if you wait a second or 2.
If you move it will start missing again (until you wait a bit and allow it to re-calibrate).
It’s better than it used to be, at least, but still pretty terrible.

I actually use Air 1 as my go-to for object destruction (though like above, thats in PvE, not WvW stuff as I don’t do WvW at all).
Though it does seem to have a wierd quirk where it won’t hit while moving, only while stationary. In WvW that may not be ideal I suppose, imagine you might be moving around trying to dodge shots or AoE’s or something.
Fire #1
Fire #2
Fire #5
Water #2
Air #1 #2
Fire #1 doesn’t miss THAT often, it’s not reliable by any means but it’s not like Air #1. If you go in melee range, or on top of the object you won’t miss that often, in fact against most objects in PVE you shouldn’t miss at all (like Trebuchets, Burrows, Risen Rotmouths etc).
Fire #5 has a targeting issue with everything, not only objects
Air #1 and #2 miss 95% of the time for me too, they miss even on mobs/players if you are moving.
Fire #2 and Water #2 always deal some damage, they miss a lot of their potential damage but if you stay perfectly still your target will take damage.
When dealing with attackable objects I use Fire #3 to deal most of my damage, if you use Burning Speed at point-blank range it will deal maximum damage in the least time. It’s your best weapon against Trebuchets and Doors in PVP too.
what about trying to hit defective flower turrets in Tixx dungeon? all classes had at least one “single target” skill, I was forced to use PBAoE even for those -,-’
hopefully, someday devs will give us at least one efficient single target skill. Just one.
If you target those turrets and stand almost under them, all three shots of fire 1 hit them.
If you target those turrets and stand almost under them, all three shots of fire 1 hit them.
efficient = practical result with balanced effort
Oops, guess I can’t read lol
