[DEV POST] D/D ele being discussed
My prediction:
Burning Fire – Reduce might from 3 to 2.
Pyromancer’s Training – Reduce 33% to 20%
Blinding Ashes – Increase CD to 10 secs
Soothing Disruption – Regen/Vigor reduced to 3 secs
Cleansing Water – Add CD
Drake Breath – Reduce CD from 3 to 2 secs
Ring of Fire – Reduce Burning to 2 stacks and add CD
Fire line should not be touched exept the might on cantrips. Otherwise you will nerf non D/D builds hard and they are far from meta. Would be a blunt nerf and not good for def reputation.
Nerfing water/cantrips is dangerous. Might hit ele brutaly. While i think its good at that point i fear this will either be done bad or not touched because not daring changing what was there for years.
So the best is to directly go for dagger and removing might from cantrips.

Nooo absolutely no, we were there, that nerf send the Ele to oblivion and we have to wait 1.5 year to be reverted.
So no.
removing regen from soothing disruption might do it. But it will hit all water/cantrip eles more or less hard.
So what woul happen if this is done:
Remove might from burning fire
Remove regen from soothing disruption and up vigor to 10s.
RoF has only 1 burn stack but only 12s CD.
another idea i had was swaping glyphs and cantrips in the traits.
This means cantrips are traitet in air and will give boons, glyphs are in water and will give regen + vigor.

at least make Tempest viable before nerf the ele.
Good. D/D cele cantrip Ele is stupidly OP in sPvP right now, so much so that stacking 3 or more of them on a team is getting common. Nerf it HARD plz.

MIGHT from cantrips is not the problem….. that would imply ele’s just spam cantrips and use them offensively…. which is not the case, good eles don’t use them unless the situation calls for it..they are used for defensive purposes mostly…
Whats been causing all this fuss and unbalanced gameplay started when burning was buffed and it sent the fire skills on D/D over the top (2,3,4 lowcd, easy stacks of burning)
I can easily see fire skills on D/D getting nerfed…. ya I don’t believe they touch the fire trait line unless maybe they do something with blinding ashes and make it ICD longer…
they can’t nerf our water/arcane… we die to any half decent thief/mesmer out of their stealth burst in a matter of seconds without our sustain from water/arcane.
Burning/DD fire skills will definitely be touched, you can bet the farm on that one.
Might on cantrip can be tuned down, but I sure hope they don’t nerf Fire any more. That will hurt other builds. I remember when Fire was the joke trait line, and I do not want to return to that time.
I seriously hope that they also give Scepter much-needed QoL adjustments (auto-attack animation speed-up and damage increases, rework to Shatterstone.)
Our burst build (Fresh Air) has been pushed out of the meta due to the dominance of Mesmer and to a lesser extent Thief…it’d be nice for Scepter burst builds to additionally get some love in terms of defense, so that you don’t die when a Mesmer so much as looks at you.
And, of course, my perennial gripes: Gylph buffs/cool down reductions/additional trait interactions, Conjure reworks (instant cast, AoE effect on cast, stun break on Earth Shield), more options other than Water/Arcane, and Tempest Overload buffs (stability/break bar during channel.)
I hope they buff the flame axe.

While water is on top of the food chain, burst thiefs and mesmers are well beatable without even traiting water ;-). The main problem is that you will die to longer condi aplication without water. A condi mesmer will totally wreck non water eles, as necros will do.

Efficientest nerf is only touch dagger fire aplication. It will do least damage to other builds.
While i understand blinding ashes being anoying for some oponents, it´s far from OP.

I have never seen a group of people playing the same class bandwagon together asking to nerf that class as you people have done.
When its unbalanced, its just that.
For me people denying the truth or even lying, to keep their advantage, loose their right to participate in decisions, unless it only affects themself.
Resonable ellys face the truth and they want build diversity and balance. We want well thought work not blunt nerfs, that destroy a dozend ele builds just for bringing D/D to normal.

If anything this shows how broken the state of the ele is right now. There’s a lot of people who, when in an advantadge, don’t want to lose that position, and get annoyed when balancing hits their class. However good players must know what is good for the game and should, imo, prefer a fair fight. I mean, yeah, you feel awesome when winning, but when it’s not by your own merits? I’m sure many would prefer a balanced class with more even fights.

news flash: you’re SUPPOSED to die to certain things, that’s how the rest of GW2 professions work.
you want to trait to stop direct damage? you have to give up some condi cleanse
want to stop condi builds? gotta be a bit squishy to burst builds.
want to be able to stop both? gotta build a full bunker and do absolutely 0 damage.
Yeah I’m not even a main ele, but one night I played games with my Mesmer friend post mantra nerf without voice comm for duo queuing and I played fire d/d ele. We literally won 16 games in a row that night, partially because I was able to 1v1 nearly anything, anywhere while doing so much burning and cleave and healing and condi cleansing in teamfights while disengaging from the few teamfights that we lost.
After that I realized that even for me, a novice ele who understands the basics, that this class was a little bit too broken, so I’m glad it’ll be brought into line.

It deserves to be nerfed dude. You and like 20% of the ele population believe its “not OP”.
Majority of the ele mains , ALL of the pvpers, even the devs, are in agreement that Ele is OP.
Its not a matter of “IF ele gets nerfed”, its a matter of when. Its 100% going to happen.
